JACKSON HOLE
Investors have pared back expectations the Fed could tilt to a slower pace of rate hikes as U.S. inflation remains at 8.5% on an annual basis, well above the Fed's 2% target. But Powell's speech due on Friday will be scrutinized for any indication that an economic slowdown might alter the Fed’s strategy.

Investors now expect the Fed Funds rate to peak at 3.80% in March 2023, up from 3.62% a fortnight ago, said Tapas Strickland, NAB's economics director.

Interest rate futures imply a 60% chance of a 75 bp Fed hike in September , up from 50% earlier this week. Euro zone money markets are now pricing in around 100 bps of ECB rate hikes by October, including a slight chance of 75 bps move next month.

Funds under the CPF Investment Scheme (CPFIS) lost an average of 8 per cent in the quarter ended Jun 30, as rising interest rates and recession fears hit global stock and bond markets. Still, they outperformed the MSCI World Index, which fell 13.8 per cent in the same period. On a 1 year cumulative basis, however, CPFIS funds’ returns were down 14.2 per cent, which was worse off than the MSCI World’s 11.3 per cent fall. On a 3-year cumulative basis, returns for the CPFIS funds were up 8.5 per cent, said Morningstar Asia on Tuesday (Aug 23).

Based my own experience touch CPF when it is a bull market becuz really can beat the 2.5% For bear market best to be obedient stay put inside CPF. Some reader say this is market timing agree so for readers who don't like can take the simpler route of never to invest using CPF at all.

most people are better off not touching CPF.
for bear market, they need the stomach to average in lower and lower...

So kinda agree that most people should only get in at start of bull market... but such timing is tough to catch.
Average in ETF yearly and close eyes, look back in 5-10 years...

Risks we’re watching out for :

Increasing geopolitical tensions between the US and China has the potential to roil markets.
Skyrocketing energy costs in Europe - due to its heavy reliance on Russia for gas - are damping its economic outlook. It will likely be strained further as winter approaches.
Rising US rates and a stronger USD are lifting borrowing costs for emerging markets, putting some at risk of default.

also during covid lockdown china manufacturing and logistics stop. the whole world suffer.
if anything we learn, is not to over rely on 1 party. he die u die evy1 die.

is the company u invested in over rely on 1 party for its revenue or its components?
