Philip Morris International Inc. Reports 2019 Third-Quarter Results

Philip Morris International Inc. (NYSE: PM) today announces its 2019 third-quarter results and revises its 2019 full-year reported diluted earnings per share forecast. Comparisons presented in this press release on a "like-for-like" basis reflect pro forma 2018 results, which have been adjusted for the deconsolidation of PMI's Canadian subsidiary, Rothmans, Benson & Hedges, Inc. (RBH), effective March 22, 2019 (the date of deconsolidation). In addition, reflecting the deconsolidation, PMI's total market share has been restated for previous periods.

KINDER MORGAN DECLARES $0.25 PER SHARE DIVIDEND AND ANNOUNCES RESULTS FOR THIRD QUARTER OF 2019

quarter to exceed 10 percent growth
• $506 million or $0.22 per share of net income available to common stockholders
• $1.14 billion or $0.50 per share of distributable cash flow (DCF)
• $571 million of excess DCF above declared dividend
• Year-to-date 2019 Adjusted EBITDA effectively flat to 2018 despite Trans Mountain sale
• Announced agreement to sell U.S. portion of Cochin pipeline and 70 percent interest in KML

KMI’s board of directors approved a cash dividend of $0.25 per share for the third quarter ($1.00 annualized) payable on November 15, 2019, to common stockholders of record as of the close of business on October 31, 2019. KMI is reporting third quarter net income available to common stockholders of $506 million, compared to $693 million in the third quarter of 2018; and DCF of $1,140 million, a 4 percent increase over the third quarter of 2018.

2019 Outlook

In consideration of our results thus far in 2019, as well as the impact of the sale of EIS on September 30, 2019, the Company now expects sales to increase approximately 3.5%. This updated sales outlook represents a change from the Company's previous guidance for a 4.5% to 5.5% sales increase.

The Company expects diluted earnings per share to range from $5.44 to $5.52 and is updating its outlook for adjusted diluted earnings per share, which excludes any nine month and future transaction and other costs and income, to $5.60 to $5.68. This is a change from the Company's prior guidance of $5.65 to $5.75 and is primarily due to the sale of EIS. The Company continues to expect a tax rate of approximately 25% in 2019.

U.S. Army Selects Raytheon for Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor

aytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has been selected to provide the US Army with their next generation, 360-degree capable radar - the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS). Raytheon will receive more than $384 million to deliver six production representative units of the advanced LTAMDS radar under an Other Transactional Authority U.S. Army agreement. LTAMDS is a new radar that will ultimately replace the current U.S. Army's Patriot radars. It will operate on the Army's Integrated Air and Missile Defense network.

why would you buy individual stocks versus say $NOBL etf?

guess is same reason why some rather buy individual stocks rather than index
- potential better returns
- got time to study individual
- can haolian returns better than market "beat the market"
- save on fund manager fees

Trump likes trade war. :)

Fired but the defense Budget didn’t drop. It increased for 5 years consecutively. Wouldn’t wanna be caught up by China. :s12:

The point is, whether they do war isn’t as important as whether they prepared for it. The preparation is the one that keep them rising. If war comes, it’s a bonus.
