No satellite radio or XM radio, will still have normal radio. Nowadays, the cars usually have aux in and BT radio, at least for the bigger cars. XM / satellite radio just means more channels and better quality, if you are looking to stream from HP / aux in, then don't need this option. For insurance, I usually get CDW / LDW only or none, however, I still have travel insurance to back up, plus US-based credit card car rental insurance.

If you don't take the satellite radio option, you'll just have regular radio, yeah. I quite like the Sirius/XM satellite radio though; it means you don't have to go hunting for channels every couple of hours as you drive from town to town, and there's always something interesting to listen to; if you get bored of the fifty-something music channels, there's talk radio, world news (CNN, Fox, MSNBC, BBC, and NPR), and zillions of sports channels.

I usually take the third-party liability insurance, but yeah, it helps if you know exactly what your credit card insurance covers. That'll save you a lot of headache.

Thx bro. I heard that satellite radio is good if you are driving long distances like in the mountains, reception will be better.

Usually, I'd have songs loaded into my phone, then do streaming either via Aux in or Bluetooth. Either that, or if I have good 3G / 4G reception, then stream radio.

Yep, this is right. If you're doing long-distance driving, satellite radio is totally worth it - my parents are doing a 5,000-kilometre road trip around the western states later this year (California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, back to California), and I'm going to shout them the upgrade to satellite radio.

I'd take the Acadia. The Sienna is a boring minivan that will only really be useful if you're carrying more than five or six people; the Acadia is a full-on SUV that'll be a lot nicer to drive.

As for "nine days in LA"... I wouldn't. I'd do one more day in LA after Disney and Universal Studios; either go shopping in Beverly Hills if that's your thing, or hit Lacma and the Getty if arts are your thing. And then I'd head out of town; go over to Palm Springs for a few days and soak up the 50s Hollywood glamor (though if you're travelling in summer this is not a great idea, Palm Springs is in the desert after all), or head up the coast toward the San Luis Obispo wine country.

Wow thats quite a number of luggage. How many in your travelling party?

Do note that the GMC Arcadia will not be able to accommodate all 5 bags unless u fold down the third row which will restrict capacity to 4(some may have 2nd row bench seat).

If u are travelling with 4-5 pax, i suggest u consider the bigger brother Yukon XL which has more capacity onboard for ur road trip.

Traveling with 4 ppl Acadia would still work. 2 ppl traveling can bring 4x 30" and 2x 24". Sg ppl maybe don't max out
5 ppl it will suck seating in the 3rd row.
If u thinking of shopping and dumping bags on top of your suit cases you would want more room

Cargo vol
Acadia - 15cu ft
Yukon XL- 39
Sienna - 39

It's a party of 4. So the back seats will be down. In fact my only concern is from my Airbnb to airport. Unless there is like courier service for luggages.

Uber has an SUV option which will be large enough for all your luggage. :)

Hi! I'm traveling to the west coast in Sept. Will be heading to SF, Napa, Yosemite, Vegas and LA. Thinking of visiting factory outlets either in SF or Vegas. I have heard they are both almost the same (gilroy and premium outlets Vegas). Has anyone visited both and which is better? Vegas fits into our itinerary better.

Thanks!
