Any recommendations for pocket wifi for a San Francisco trip? Did a search in this thread but did not find anything. I was planning to go with the Changi recommends provider.

Edit: just saw the post on the 30usd t-mobile plan, I guess getting that and broadcasting hotspot would be cheaper! Also for those flying SQ to SFO or LAX, there's a free 7 day wifi rental promotion on SQ Facebook if you're interested

Yeah, definitely just go for T-Mobile. That way you get cellular data as well.

Hi guys,
Going to NY in Oct for 8 days. May I ask what is the places/things are recommended to go? Shopping would be the priority there.
Any hotel recommendations?
Thanks

Accommodation in NY costs an arm and a leg... I stayed at this Air BNB that I can't stop raving about, the host is Marcela and her apartment is near Columbus Circle, my best Air BNB experience thus far. Good location, spotless and friendly host, with an affordable price.

Has anyone taken SQ26 before? Its Sin->FRA->JFK. Any idea how long do i have to deplane for??

I wanted to know this as well. I dont know whether 1 hour 50 minutes is enough..

1hr 50 mins in FRA? This is enough. Considering this is a direct flight and SQ26 uses the same plane for both flights, so if your SIN - FRA is delayed, so will your FRA - JFK (no plane to fly out until you arrive). I haven't flown this particular route, but usually, you just need to clear security, no passport control.

P.S. Direct flight simply means the same flight number to your destination. You can have multiple stops and even change planes / plane types.

cheap factory outlet shopping:
http://www.tangeroutlet.com/
http://www.premiumoutlets.com/

tripadvisor is also a good place to do some research on what are the best attractions and places to visit for each city. good luck!

btw it would be best to rent a car cos taxis would be inconvenient and expensive to get around.

Outlet shopping in New York
- Woodbury Premium Outlets (can do a day trip, either catch a bus or drive)
- Century 21 (near WTC memorial)
- Nordstrom Rack

NY gurus - is it better to take the subway and Air Train from Manhattan/Queens to JFK or pre-book a car service before hand? I am expecting to fly out of JFK near midnight in end December..

I'm guessing both my wife and me would be hauling maybe 2 pieces of luggages with one big backpack in all.

Thanks :)

We used a contact from our air bnb host, alternatively uber or a private car (eg Carmel). I've used Carmel a few times before and it's pretty decent. From their website they've got an online coupon which you can download and use as well.

Took nycairporter, from Penn station, just $17 per pax. Do allow at least 90 minutes travelling time.

Don't forget Uber - an UberX is going to run you less than $50 for that trip.

Are u able to fly into SF and back from LA?

I feel day 15 to 17 in LA is a bit long as there really isn't much to see and do there other than theme parks and beaches.

If u like nature, maybe can spend a longer time in Yosemite.

SF is also a nicer city and more things to see than in the LA area.
If u drink wine, can go to Napa Valley.

Cannot haha, got the tickets to/fro LAX. I'm thinking since I have such a long time, might as well drive from LA to SF? Ya I'm a nature fan, probably can spend more time in Yosemite and Vegas then.
