You can try to go against the progress but it will be pretty much the same as trying to stand in front of moving train.

Uber will be new taxi come autonomous car, the states taxi will change over running their fleet with autonomous car. With larger fleet they can get cars cheaper we hope rates lower. Rental car companies maybe gone too.... Doubt private car owner without jointing a company can use their car to make money. States love to tax income.

Depends on the time of year, but typically the strip hotels are so cheap that the resort fee isn't so bad. If you're paying like $100 for a room plus a $20 resort fee, that's not actually that bad.

I'll be in Orlando early December for a conference and will be bringing my parents (in their 60s) along as well. Any recommendations/site to visit that are recommended? Don't think they will be very interested in the theme parks in the area though we might just do 1-2 since we're there. Will be there for about a week.

Do they drive and or like beaches?
If so they can visit Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach on the Atlantic side.
About an hour drive away.
Cape Canaveral where they launch rockets is nearby. They probably have a museum there too.
Can easily do it as a day trip while u are at the conference.

Can try their local crabs, Stone crabs.

for those starbucks lovers, if U do visit Seattle skip the 1st starbucks store but head towards the roastery and tasting room

coffee serve there are 5 days after the roast date. they sold some beans exclusive to the store but they are expensive. the most expensive beans is at us$22 for 8oz (0.5lb). most beans at the special counter are 2-5 days past the roast date.

Sure, but don't forget to try some of the local treats as well. If you're in SF, get thee to Napoleon Bakery in Chinatown and try some of their pineapple buns; if you're up north near Seattle, you might be able to lay your hands on a Nanaimo bar, which is the absolute best thing ever.

I agree with everyone upthread; you can, but why would you want to? America's a bit of a coffee wasteland (outside of NYC and SF anyway, and you can't get a decent flat white anywhere outside Lower Manhattan), but you can still do better than 3-in-1 instant. Even the cheap-and-cheerful roadside motels have brew-your-own coffee machines so you can have a fresh cup in the morning.

Yep: I recommend don't use coffee powder. Find yourself a nice little coffee shop (check Yelp), or learn to use the coffee-makers that are in every hotel room - you'll get yourself a stronger, better-tasting coffee every time.

Also, if you're headed to NYC, give Bluestone Lane a crack: even the Aussie prime minister approves of them.
