Hi guys.

I was checking carhire

Std ( CHhrysler 200 )
Full Size ( Impala )
Premium ( Nissan Maxima )

The difference between these category is negligible ( <$10 )

Which one should I opt for?

Get a mustang! U will never get to drive in sg

There's some truth in this:)

It is a good idea to get a nice car that you can never drive in Singapore. If the weather is good, a Mustang convertible is the way to go. It's not often you get to drive with the top down under beautiful clear blue skies with nary a cloud within sight. The only down side is that it might cost significantly more to rent, depending on circumstances.

Agreed!

I owned a 2007 Mustang GT when I lived in the states back in 2011-12, and I loved the sound of the big V8 motor..Something you can't get back here in Singapore without dishing out obscene amounts of money.

Plus, it adds to the whole american experience :D

So normally I hate LA and I'd say don't do this, but in this case, yes, do it. The SF-LA one-way is like one hour and a hundred bucks on Virgin America. That's a huge saving, and that means more money to spend on some nice Napa Valley plonk.

yah, southwest has around 8 daily flights .... which is a saver ...

BART to SFO

I will be in San Francisco next month for a few days and need to catch a 7am flight to New York.

As I am staying very near the Powell Street BART station, was thinking of catching the BART to SFO, but it seems that the first train at Powell Street is at 4.58am and reaches SFO at 5.28 am.

Is this enough time to check in for my domestic flight ? I have luggage to check but will be flying domestic First Class, if that makes any difference.

Or should I just book a shuttle service ? Thanks in advance.

U shld also sign up for alamo free membership. Think it allow u to add your spouse as the second driver for free. Dont really need in california as it is compulsory by law.

Btw, the only problem with SQ-linked webpage is the lack to range in the cars. So far the price i saw was the same if it is the same rental company. SQ-linked website typically display in S$.

U mean touristy place to visit?
The drive to Portland is easy, outside Portland visit the Columbia river gorge, darn pretty.
Into wine Oregon is another great place to visit

Worth spending 8 days @ both cities? Looked like nothing interesting to do there unlike some major cities I.e. sfo, lax, or nyc
