i think nowadays those storage only can transfer 5 Gbit/s ? I believe Gen2 can transfer 10 Gbit/s.

got such portable storage now?

i was trying to backup my PC. 1.5 TB, it took me many hours !!!

the main factor is still depends on what kind of storage u r backing up "read speed" and to "write speed"

If they sell you a mechanical 2.5/ 3.5 inch drive with USB 3.1, you are still limited to how fast the drive is. For 1.5TB, I don't think you have a lot of options, unless you have a lot of money to buy the highest capacity SSDs.
