Looks the driver is not compatible with Realtek 8832AU based Fenvi AX1800 (no sticking out antenna), Windows 11 reported Code 10 (driver can not start). I have to revert back to the original 5001.0.15.110 driver version bundled with the adapter.

The driver does work with the AXE5400 Realtek 8832CU based Fenvi AXE5400 adapter. And it does NOT help to sort out the packet loss issue with Asus router.
AXE5400 Realtek 8832CU -- Realtek 5001.19.102.0, date 26-Jul-2023 (bundled with the adapter)--> updated to 5001.19.113.0 dated 15-Nov-2023. This adapter is quite annoying that it always boot to USB CD-ROM and I need to eject the CD-ROM in order to use it as an WiFi adapter.

There are other brands which are based on Realtek 8832CU (AXE5400), let's see if users of Comfast 972AX (Realtek RTL8832cu based) or other brands will have better lucks or not.

Google does not seem to find such an issue though.

The other interesting finding of all the three Fenvi WiFi 6/6E adapters is that they do not support "Random hardware addresses". They are flagged out by Windows in RED color that "Random hardware addresses" is "not supported by these adapters: WiFi x".

Interestingly I do not see such issue in another Intel N100 mini PC (exactly the same HW configuration as the previous Intel N100 mini PC, both are Chuwi Herobox 2023 model with Intel N100, 8GB/256GB. Intel AX101 WiFi 6 adapter).

I tested multiple times and I could not reproduce the packet loss issue with the Asus RT-AX86U router in this Intel N100 mini PC.

I see.

Without 3D printing, it seems the idea will be like the following.

USB Type C or Type A --> M2 NVME adapter --> NVME to NGFF carrier board for wireless adapter.

I would not try this myself for now, maybe others can try first...

Rather I will wait for MT7925 based USB WiFi 7 adapters for testing purpose.

Or go for better one that based on WIFI6 (802.11ax) instead, like the Comfast 972AX (Realtek RTL8832cu)
or the 952AX (Mediatek MT7921au) for Bestest linux support.

I actually got myself a FENVI AX1800 (Mediatek MT7921au) from taobao , yet to torture-stress test it :grin:
Thanks for your recommendations. I bought the Comfast CF-952AX based on your reco for Mediatek chipset. Installed and worked great.

Regarding the Fenvi AX1800 usb wifi, what is the exact model with Mediatek chipset?

As of now, still no MT7925/MT7927 based USB WiFi 7 adapters yet (even though there are PCIe version and M2 version).

I have got RealTek 8912AU based USB WiFi 7 adapters (BE6500 rated) from Comfast and Fenvi, I don't recommend them myself. They don't work under Linux now. Even Windows 11 24H2 recognizes them as USB WiFi 6 adapter.

They seem to draw a lot of current as well and may disappear from Windows device manager from time to time.

The USB WiFi 7 adapters from TP-Link and Asus seem to be using the same chipset as well.

D-Link DWA-X1850 AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 USB Adapter (RealTek chipset), 4m away from Asus TUF-BE6500 router, PHY Link speed 1201 Mbps. Acer Swift 3 early 2021 model running Windows 11 24H2.

This does not have external antenna. So you may want to have a USB dock to have better receptions depending on your sitation. The follow test is without the USB dock.

Most of the RealTek WiFi 6/6E/7 USB WiFi adapters will not work properly under Linux, at least with the in-kernel driver.

I only have one USB WiFi 6 adapter which works under Linux out of the box. It is Fenvi FU-AX1800 based on MT7921AU chipset (dual band WiFi 6, AX1800 rated)

Fenvi FU-AX1800 works out of box for my Raspberry Pi 400 (running 64 bit Raspberry Pi OS).

It is much faster than the on-board WiFi 5 adapter. 6m away from Asus TUF-BE6500 router. WiFi speed jumps from about 100 Mbps to 680 Mbps.

Changing HB710 operating mode from router mode to AP mode seems to fix the issue for now. I will need to monitor.
