For those who put USD FD in local banks, just want to share info that UOB USD FD is going bonkers. Big jump in interest rates from last Friday.

2.62% for 100K and above.
2.72% for 250 K and above.

Please be aware that USD FD are not insured locally, so that's the risk.

but i hated the fact that need to use UOB rates to convert to USD 1st ........and their spread is huge

That's the trick! Then if you transfer out or exchange back to SGD then you suffer the spread again. Think can be easily upto 1% all in all.

so for those who r comfy or needed at least a (no spread) 2.5% - 4% CPF topup is YOUR ans?! Better, isnt it?!

Anyway, a side point: been seeing many sell off their funds/reits from a robo to another broker (Cos of some promos) , they thought that every change comes FOC?!

I am holding mainly USD and very little SGD, only convert USD to SGD and never converted SGD to USD.

You can explore the option of using Interactive Brokers, depending if you can wire SGD to IBKR, and charges involved. Ask in the IBKR thread.
