Use Ram certified for AMD on intel system

Yes. “Ryzen ram” is just ram with sub timing pre-tested on the ryzen CPUs to ensure better compatibility with Ryzen’s memory controller since the 1st and 2nd gen controller was really not that good and can result in incompatibility even in kits that are not very fast.

On the other hand, intel barely changed their CPU design so memory controller remained consistent throughout the generations and compatibility isn’t a big issue.

Hello, I was looking at rams from Newegg and thought they were having a good deal. However the rams stated “for amd”. Question is, can I use it on a z490 mobo with xmp enabled ?

Brought the corsair LPX ryzen certified RAM a few months back, XMP works for X570 and Z390. What's good about the Ryzen certified logo, is somehow Ryzen master can recognise and auto to 1800 for infinity fabric without any tuning... which my previous corsair rgb cannot...
To be safe, recommend u check if its' XMP2.0 certified and your mobo QVL...
