going to upgrade my storage drive, WD Blue 1TB to HGST Deskstar NAS 6TB http://www.lazada.sg/hgst-deskstar-...i-128mb-cache-internal-hard-drive-496335.html on my Asus Vanguard B85 motherboard. is there anything i need to know before hand?

Make sure you format it into a GPT partition instead of MBR.

Other than that, it's a great upgrade.
