Hi guys,

Recently I built a home server and connected it to the speakers in the living room (Armageddon A7). Previously this was connected directly to the telly so input from the Starhub box and my Xbox also came out from the A7 speakers.

Now I have the A7 directly to Line Out on the back of my HTPC, which is great, but I also want sound from the other devices without messing around swapping cables. So I connected the TV 3.5mm output to the HTPC Line In and enabled the passthrough in Windows.

I now have 2 problems. The speakers now have a distinct buzzing/static noise when Line In is connected and any audio coming from the TV has a very bad echo.

Speakers are shielded. Cable is (probably?) shielded and not in close proximity to other cables. What do I do now?
