Wealth Protection is air tight like submarine.

Now i am looking to continue to protect and also ACCUMULATE my wealth.

I am mis-sold whole life endownment for saving (doesn't make sense to surrender my money and lock myself in for 15 years just to be able to get back my total premium paid as guaranteed return).

I am looking at the DBS Investor-Save scheme and is interested in buying 1 of the UT on offer under DBS. Did not opt for ETF since it is passively managed tagged to market indexes.

I feel this is the perfect storm to buy into UT. Some advice please.

Somehow I don't think you are looking for advice. you already made up your mind.

I think you might have misunderstood ETFs vs UTs.

A UT and an ETF are basically the same thing:

* They both own a lump of stocks or bonds or whatever;
* You can buy a stake in that lump of stocks or bonds;
* The fund manager charges a management fee for the effort they put in to manage your money.

Where they differ:

* ETFs can be traded any time during the day; UTs can only be bought or sold at the end of the day;
* UTs typically have much higher fees.

Those are very good reasons not to go for unit trusts! Your money's getting funnelled into buying a new Ferrari for your fund manager, instead of staying in your pocket like it would if you bought an ETF.

"Buying a UT" it a bit meaningless, in fact. You can buy a UT that's super-aggressive and owns a bunch of tech stocks; you can buy a UT that's super-conservative and owns a bunch of short-term bonds.

Did you mean to say that you want to start buying stocks?
