Value Window RT for student?

any value window RT device for student in 30s? haha.

I looking for replacement to my netbook. Any suggestion?

Is a RT suitable for word processing, youtube...???

RT got Office 2013 built in, there's no official YT client, but afaik, IE10 has flash enabled, so you can watch youtube in IE...

you cannot run any legacy desktop applications, because it uses a different architecture... so you have to decide again if it has any value for you...

also, first gen surface is very slow...

it can probably replace your ipad, but not a full fledged laptop...

Now a day people carry smart phone. May be it is more useful then RT?

There is little value add moving to a Windows RT device. Most are running a Tegra 3 in there, and I feel it is pretty slow by today's standard, relative to the price. I rather you pay a little more and get what they now call "sub notebook". These usually runs with a decent desktop class processor, running a full fledged Windows OS. Even with the lower end processor, these should perform significantly better than the Tegra 3. I do note that storage is pretty limited on Win RT devices, so I think that is one thing that you should also consider.

Most of my usage is really youtube, datasearching, word processing. nothing really very fancy.
