You draw lesser power, in fact much lesser. You reduce the amount of cuda cores, but you increased the core clocked.

You reduce the GDDR5 to GDDRX which it should reduced heat output to.

But it is not.....

Previous gen to run at 80degC is still understandable as the 980ti draws a range of 300watts.

And worse of all $100US more for a cooler that cant cool the 1080 properly. Where the AIB are gonna market it at $600US.
jus wondering...
if higher tdp card vs low tdp card maintain at 80c
does it mean higher rate of heat dissipation required (more heat dump in ur room) for the higher tdp card?
if so, can't just compare same 80c temp & say its the same "heat output"...?

Yes. You are totally right in this dept.

As long as it is a higher tdp card. More heat is being dumped out of the case.

But Nvidia claimed that it is a new shroud with new design vapor chamber. Yet it performs the same temps as its predecessor, then imho, it sux. Cause they could have used much lesser materials to even make the heatsink.

Either way. AIB is the way to go. Hoping that with custom cooler, it can push for a much effective cooling option.

Precisely. You cant enjoy the card out of the box. Especially for power users with 2 cards. Its very hot.

Yet again of cause power users would probably pull out the shroud and cooler and slap on something else lol.
