Well, it’s a Ryzen system with Vega mobile :o
Know where you are coming from - you sir are well read.

No it’s not the intel and Vega collaboration!

Thanks, but these is not the Intel collab one right? it's meant to fight the mx150?

looking at the 1050 equivalent.

I think he referring to new Intel chip Intel i7-8809G with integrated graphics from AMD.

https://ark.intel.com/products/1304...RX-Vega-M-GH-graphics-8M-Cache-up-to-4_20-GHz

It probably will only available in notebook around Q3-Q4

I am not sure if it is worth the wait. On say a NUC, it may work fine, but if you look at the new NUC from Intel, it is significantly thicker because of the 100W power requirement. Therefore, I am not expecting the laptop with this processor to be slim. Also, as it does not toggle between the AMD and Intel GPU, it is likely that battery life is going to be poor too.

He's not referring to the 8809g. He's talking about the 8705g that will be on the new XPS 15 2in1 2018 model. That one is only 65Ws requirement.

Noted. However do note that 65W is still quite a lot of power when it comes to a laptop. Not that the laptop can't supply 65W, but cooling can be an issue. At least based on my own experience, Intel mobile processors tend to top out at 45W. And even in a thick gaming laptop with a beefy cooler, temps can easily reach north of 85 degs. So I am not expecting a laptop with this CPU to be anywhere near slim. Otherwise, do expect it to throttle quite a bit.

It would be unlikely that Vega M isn't primarily designed to implement MUXless graphics (PowerXpress 5.0 rebranded as Enduro). Vega M is a mobile destined part and not doing so would hurt battery life and adoption. But how well Enduro has worked over the years is another matter since there isn't a "verde" driver program equivalent and manufacturer custom drivers likely needed.
