LG Gram, Lenovo Yoga Carbon, Fujitsu UH-X. Take your pick. =)

The Fujitsu is the lightest of the lot, but I think the Yoga Carbon may be the cheapest.

i have both lg gram [1kg] and macbook air m1 [1.3kg], i can feel the difference when carrying either in backpack

as TS mentioned "very light laptop", weight is mission-critical here

Your LG gram can last how long on battery power with light tasks? There is a compromise between weight and battery life.

i bought macbook air instead of lg gram for a recent conference, as i knew it would last whole day without bothering with charging

I think carrying extra 40g for that extra >5 hours battery life is worth it.

It also depends on applications. If there are no proprietary apps, it's usually not a problem recommending a Mac. Also, from experience Office on Mac is still not feature parity with Office for Windows, and this is glaringly obvious when you have to use MS Excel with certain spreadsheets.

It's also important to note that for some use cases, a Mac cannot fit into certain corporate deployments due to requirements and/or apps. Even in 2024, this is a concern for certain IT departments.

In any case, a MacBook Air is not in the same weight class as the Fujitsu UH-X, which is 878 grams. That is in the iPad Pro (12.9" at 641g) weight class, without the keyboard and versatility of a full laptop.

Yes, different strokes, different folks. I have friends who prefer a lighter laptop because it's carried in addition to all their camera gear, so shaving some weight here and there adds up and is helpful.

I am using UH-X.. really light.. but too bad seems like no more stocks in the market.

Using Gram 14. Light with necessary ports, good for traveling. My laptop is already 2+ yrs and currently looking for another light laptop which has better battery.
