I am considering the following laptop for Adobe Premier Pro usage. I am using mostly for video edit and need a laptop that allows me to encode my footage quickly.

Any good recommendation are welcome.

-Asus ROG G751JT
-MSI - GE60
-Asus GTX 765m

Most of the laptop comes with 8GB RAM. Please advise if there are spare slot for upgrade to 16GB if you are owner of these laptops or have any experiences with them.

Thank you very much.

Go for Aftershock notebooks. Much more flexible, customisable upgrade options than even Dell. And price is very reasonable, especially upgrade price differences.

Using a lappie for mobile editing during gigs

Initially, my choice was either

ROG G750 Or 751
Aftershock

i went for the ROG
ROG monitor has fantastic colour and has sleek lines for the exterior design.
Any studio i went to commented that i was carrying a stealth fighter notebook
It can store 2 storage Drives ( 2,5" bays ) or 3 if you remove the ODD and can go up to 32GB Ram. Read. Fantastastic AE machine.

The Aftershock notebooks can store around 3-4 storage drives inside using a mixtuire of M2 and 2.5" Bays
But the adaptor is fug big. And the design is not not much to shout about

MSI, Alienware did not even get to my list coz of size / capabilities ( Anything with only 1 hdd bay is a no-no )

For editing, you need RAM and a bigass storage. TB is a bonus.
Go for at least 16gb if purely editing or 32gb if doing animation.

I went with the ROG and the only regret is that i cannot find a big enough bag to carry it in other than the default bag given by Asus.
The Aftershock, i find it affordable but at that price point, unless i need the extra built in storage bay, there are better alternatives. If you are looking for a fast mobile workstation to handle uncompressed / hi-res pro res files in the field, and don't mind an adaptor 1/3 the bulk of the notebook, go with Aftershock.

Alienware big ass and bulky. Great as a doorstopper or as a weight in windy conditions.
MSI: Its a standard notebook. If its the cheapest, why not?

PS: I would seriously consider the Aftershock if i am looking at a 13" i7 4c/8t machine that can fit 2x storage devices coz, you know, videographers will be like a koala bear after adding in the video cameras, batteries...etc. :p
