No plans to oc. Reliability more important. Any Asus motherboard recommendation? Seem to have better experience with Asus.
Wad programs u wanna use first? Simple programs like Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects? Or more advanced programs like Cinema4D or Autodesk Maya? The programs u most frequently use will affect ur choice of CPU and GPU to get.
OC is the way to go. Some CPU chips come at abt 3.3GHz, max 4.0GHz stock speed. Overclock to 4.6-4.7GHz range and u will see significant improvement in rendering times, since the CPU is overclocked to churn out the render faster. My experience with my Ivy Bridge i5-3570K chip is about 30% faster in rendering/export times on Premiere Pro at 4.5GHz clock speed, compared to stock 3.3GHz. Some more mine is on i5, so only 4 cores, no hyperthreading, and Ivy Bridge is about 3 generations away. So an i7-5820k when overlcoked to 4.6GHz should give u something like 5 times faster render speeds compared to my chip.
Of course, I'm only talking about the basic video rendering on programs like Premiere Pro. Move on to Autodesk Maya and other more intensive 3D programs, u will start seeing the benefits of more CPU cores and even GPU power for hardware acceleration.
