Can do all 3 for friday afternoon and saturday whole day?

just came back from hcmc, danang, Hoi An trip

fly to hcmc with tigerair then domestic flight to danang with jetstar pacific then cab to hoi an and stay at Thanh Binh Riverside hotel. If interested to visit hoi an, I highly recommend this hotel. It is about 200m from the hoi an old town, where you see all those lantern at night on pictures. My room is S$70 a night but too bad the view from the balcony is just the locals houses across a quiet small road, very countryside feel. Most tourist there are angmoh, japs and korean, unlike Vung tao where most are their locals.

on and if i'm going in a group of 5... 5th person how? saw online the berths all 4 bed nia..

I had a group of 5 too. We made it 3+2. It worked for us. The last couchette in the 3-person cabin ended up vacant. The other compartment was taken up by a gregarious Vietnamese couple from the south and my friends in that cabin enjoyed their ride too.

As ur 1st time to visit Hanoi...just let you know tat it's very very safe in Hanoi now...except some stuff which u nid to be careful during ur trip such: taxi scam, thief, robber...so, to be limited to carry on valuables things with you...hope tat ll be a great expenrice for u in Hanoi

Just spend ard 5mins to buy a sim card nearby phone counter at airport....(ard ~~ 100K đong) if no one give u one bfr going to Vietnam

It's depend on ur arrival time (low or high season) from 1st May - 31th Sept ==> is low season & fr 1st Oct - 30th april is high peak of tourism in the north of VN.. If ur group is 4 or 5ppls i think you should contact to local agency in Hano to book in advance..

There s 2 kind of train ticket: soft sleeper (4berth/cabin) & hard sleeper (6berth /cabin)...Recommend to u to book for kind of 4bed~~~ cuz..i ll take a long trip to Lao Cai - Sapa

yeah i got scammed by taxi before in saigon. the meter jump like super fast and before i knew it i was paying 70 dollars for a trip that should have beeen just 10.. any idea which taxi companies i should use?

For HCM, the safest brand of taxi is "Vinasun".

From HCM airport to city area, by taxi meter, is around VND150K or less. If booked from the airport counter, it's only 200K. Anything more, don't pay.

If you at Hanoi, take Nobai taxi. From airport to city center, it's a flat rate of VND370K (no meter). And if you have more than 4 pax, can consider taking a mini-bus type which has a fix rate of VND500K.
