Is the power adapter for vietnam the two flat pins or the two round pins? I guess I would need an adapter for my three pin plugs?

yes you would need an adaptor, most if not all are either 2 flat or round pins

hi guys,

need your help in suggestions..

had booked tix to HCM end jul, for 5D4N. was wondering if can squeeze da lat with cu chi AND shopping in these 5 days? one of friend die die must go cu chi and we're kindof more towards da lat (scenary type). so kind of in deadlock now. sigh.

was wondering if other then sinhcafe, are there any other tour agencies we can explore and if there are other agencies that provides transport to and from da lat - night buses (to save on day time), anyone any ideas?

initial plan was :

D1: Arrive HCM, proceed to cu chi tunnel
D2: Depart for Da Lat
D3: Activities at Da lat (can recommend if we shld go with sinhcafe's 2D1N tour http://www.sinhcafevn.com/Tour_Detail.asp which seems rather ex or we can go on some guided trek (leisure) or explore the place ourselves? which is recommended??
D4: either carry on with Da Lat tour or proceed back to HCM. (if proceed back to HCM in morning say 7-8am, what time rough reach HCM? heard that ben thah market closes at 6pm?
D5: flying back to SG

there's no time for shopping at all!! .. need to squeeze that in..

BTW, travel hours to da lat from HCM is it around 8hrs? hai, am really hoping to find a night bus or sort of to travel to and back from da lat, so can squeeze in at least half a day of shopping around HCM etc.

if da lat is impossible, where else is recommended other then cu chi? (nice sceneries types?)

Day 1 -> Wats your arrival flight time??
You can only opt for a free and easy transfer to Dalat if you think if open tourpackage is too expensive. but you should study a little on how you plan to go exploring by yourself in Dalat.
Day 4 -> if you are proceeding back from Dalat, you should opt for a early morning departure if there is one so you can make it back in time for Ben Thanh Market..but overall , an overnight stay in Dalat + 1/2 day Dalat city tour is pretty sufficient, unless you plan on exploring the nearby waterfalls that are located in proximity to Dalat. Travel time to Dalat is about 6hours but depending on how many stops you guys are getting..etc..sometimes bring you all to a little workshops for shopping + toilet breaks, makan..drinks..fruit market.....

i'll check if Elios Hotel is available and advise you tomorrow on the rates, are you looking for a double bed or a twin bed? how many rooms do you need?
1D Mekong Delta trip is enough, SGD500 is sufficiently enough unless you plan dining in 5 star hotel for every meals

5 hours last i heard from my customer.. Moc Bai Border are a little notorious for asking for some tips from foreigners i heard..

not sure about the duty free zone in that border area though.. =/

Dalat has numerous colonial buildings, A Flower market, lakes..and waterfalls that are close within proximity .

There is a tour group known as easy riders there who are quite popular with the tourists who are on budget. They provide a full day dalat tour for a sum of USD15?-USD20?

It fluctuates by Daily Basis.. but slightly better than Bank Rates.. they give better rates for USD but i'm not too sure about S$

how is going from places in HCM recommended ah?? heard alot abt taxi meters being tampered, the traffic, jaywalking, was wondering if i'm visiting places like the reunification palace, war remnants museum, ben thanh market, city hall etc, would taxi be the best way around or i could just get a map and walk??

btw i'll be staying along Bui Vien st?

i, not all cabs are meter tempered, there are reputable taxis like vina taxis etc.. if you aer heading to reunification palae, you can walk across to notre dame cathdral and old post office, war museum wise, u'll need to take a cab there as there really isn't any attractions neaby it. from city hall, you can walk towards ben thanh market which is approximately 20-30mins walk, however you'll be passing by souvenir shops and other retail shops etc, so it isn't too bad.
when hailing a taxi from hotel, please ask the hotel reception to call a cab for you, on call taxis does not add up to extra charges in vietnam.

Airport to Bui Vien should be maximum 100,000VND if traffic is bad..check with the airport counter where they provide limousine service and see how much they charge, if the difference isn't much, i suggest you take the limousine service instead since cabbies at the airport has a habit of adding additional costs (airport surcharge??) if you're a foreigner eventhough they are running by the meter...

Airport to Bui Vien should be maximum 100,000VND if traffic is bad..check with the airport counter where they provide limousine service and see how much they charge, if the difference isn't much, i suggest you take the limousine service instead since cabbies at the airport has a habit of adding additional costs (airport surcharge??) if you're a foreigner eventhough they are running by the meter...
