Where to wait for the grab bike at airport ah? I took a taxi to D1 because it’s my first time in Vietnam. When going back, I took a grab bike but I got dropped off at domestic airport instead. Is it always like this?

Glad you enjoy hcmc. Bus 152 from airport to d1 is only 5k vnd. Try it

16980 at eximbank exchange at Tan Son Nhat airport on the left/right side of the corridor after getting the passport chop.

There is no need to fill up any immigration card prior to queueing up.

Took a vinaphone 5gb plan for 105k. Expires 30 days later.

Uber/Grab not too difficult to book from airport to hotel and costs 86k to Quan 1 (friday afternoon). However my driver did not update his vehicle model. A Hyundai i10 hatchback appeared in place of a santa fe suv. Lol.

Ridimg pillion on xe om is a must to take in the sights and sounds of HCMC and also to realise how skilful these drivers/riders are.

Also do try crossing a busy road as a pedestrian. It seems suicidal at first but you will get the hang of it.

Hanoi and ho chi minh got what difference?

HCMC - more fast-paced
Hanoi - more slow-paced

Traffic condition
HCMC worse than Hanoi imo

Food and taste also different imo

alcohol Drinking:
HCMC is more famous for late night parties
Hanoi more quieter and more restrictions

Weather (Depending on the season)
HCMC: 24 to 32 (Annual average)
Hanoi: 16 to 28 (Annual average)

and of course... there are alot more differences

They will drop you off at the multi storey carpark in the airport.
To call a grab bike at the airport, i walked to the AP petrol station outside. I cant speak Vietnamese, so i need to find a landmark for the bike to come.

going to dalat soon but vietnam air change the domestic flight schedule from 1600 to 2000hr .. WTF ..but they offer to change my flight to morning same day for free (1 time) though is very early but at 6.45am HCM is very bright liao.

Then I have to bring forward my jetstar flight schedule from sg to hcm by 1 day . Jetstar charge $60 for the change, which is a 1 way air ticket price. Too bad :( ... also need to get another night of hotel stay at hcm.

For that I get full 3 days in dalat ... hope not too boring. And dont have to make my way to hotel at late night with kids and check in hotel at 10+pm.

Da lat is very beautiful. But do bring a winter jacket as Da lat temperature can drop till 10degree at night. Daytime around 18-22degree.

I just went to Dalat 2 weeks ago. At night it is very cold, about 8 deg. Day time is cool, 16 to 18 deg. You can buy winter coats at the market. It costs about 1.2m . I bought a north face wind breaker instead, only 200k. From hcm, you can take a sleeping bus for 240k. Takes about 6 hours for over night bus.

6hrs? got new highway?
the impression from tripadvisor and others, the realistic travel time was around 8-9hrs

2yrs back after reading their reviews, I decided to go for aeroplane. Both way maybe save around 10hrs.

North face jacket in Vietnam can buy meh? Later is just a thin piece of cotton with a north face logo slap on top.

Or 45min flight from SGN. Tickets can be bought for like SGD $40 (no luggage). And I'd be happy to pay $30 more to avoid travel via Vietnam buses. Especially these 'sleeper buses' which every year end up in headlines with 'xx people are killed when bus got into accident'.

Vietjet nowdays seldom delay. Vietbu stewardess all young and slim. Speaks english. The problem is crying babies on vietjet flight. Better bring noise cancelling headphones if you have.

Meals on vietjet is half price of tiger and jetstar.

I see no reason why i would take tiger or jetstar other than the bad timings on vietjet
