I just came back from Vietnam. Spent 2 days in Hanoi, 3 days in Nha Trang, 2 days in Dalat and 2 days in HCM.

The easy rider trip in Dalat is very interesting and fun.

Stayed at the Elios hotel in HCM as recommended by the forumers here. Thanks to Techadd for booking the hotel and sending me the map /guide.

Elios is a great hotel in HCM with gd location. Its very near sinh cafe and Ben tranh market.

you're welcome ;)

Hi Bros here,

I hve confirmed my flight to vietnam HCM on 29 Nov. I have a lot of questions to ask and hope the experts here could help mi out in it. My rough plan is to travel from HCM to Hanoi then back to singapore on the 14 dec. I intend to reach Hanoi on the 7 dec night as taking the night train to Lao Cai so that leaves only 8 days to travel from HCM to Hanoi.

1)In HCM, beside vung tau, cu chi, is there any place worth visiting? Is mekong Delta worth doing? From sinhcafe, mekong detla is 1 day tour, then vung tau and cu chi is 1 day. so i plan to be in HCM from 29 Nov till 1 dec.

2)I read through the posts here, the places that are being mentioned by the bros here at dalat, mui ne, nha trang, hoi an, hu and danang. I dun tink i can visit all these places in the short span of 5 days from 2 dec till 7 dec. Could the bros here recommend mi places to visit? Nha Trang and Danang is almost similar as in both are beaches, so may i know which is better?

3)From Danang to Hanoi, if i were to take bus how long wld it take, how much? If take plane, how much wld it cost? i tried checking vietnam airlines, it onli shows schedule not the costs?

4) Would it be better to take the open tour from sinh cafe of local bus to the different sites ie nha tranf , hoi an?

Sorry for the long post. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

1)If you are visiting Nha Trang or Danang Beach Resort, u can skip vung tau, but there are other little attractions in Vung Tau of course. Mekong Delta is a visit to see the life of the islanders. You can't miss Cu Chi.

2)Nha Trang is better in most peoples view, Danang is upcoming and might surpass Nha Trang in future due to a large development of high end resorts there now?

3)Take a flight from Danang to Hanoi, try pacific arilines website for vietnam domestic flights. or enquire with a local agent to see how much it would costs to take vietnam airlines for domestic route if you've already obtained the Vietnam Airlines Ticket.

4) Yes, if you are not familar with Vietnam. Its a Hugh country and unless you are an adept traveller/backpacker.. you will feel lost..

Sorry for the long post. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance. No problem, hope above answers your questions ;)

In the city central, city hall, notre dame cathdral, saigon opera house, saigon river, ben thanh market, old post office are within walking distance of another.. (10-20mins)

War Museum, Chinatown, you'll need to take a cab. Taking a cab would be most convenient, just make sure you jot down in paper of the destination that you want to go and show it to the driver, most cab drivers speak little or no English at all. :s22:
