$5 a day not cheap unless one family share and must remember to return at airport when you come back.
That's right. Furthermore, data is very cheap in Vietnam.

1GB is quite difficult to use up on a short 3D2N trip unless you are data hungry type, like must always do IG story, IG live or FB live

Thanks for sharing shadow!!!

quite a good price.
Normally 5gb is already 120k vnd if purchasing the sim card from vn airport ...

buy from qoo10, have 2% discount from shop.
Singpost normal mail is $0.80...
Bought few sim cards from them, so far fast delivery ...

I usually buy last min so i opt for self collection. Got direct bus to my home so its fine.

If wanna go lower, can try collecting mastercard coupons on every wed to get the $2 off $10. Then use it on this card although u wun be able to use qpoints to further offset. But $9.90 is quite cheap, no need scared not enough data + can immediately use upon touchdown rather than go find a shop after immigration.

Klook’s 60gb sim card (overkill haha) at 2gb a day (4g speeds) for 30 days validity by vinaphone is only sgd8.85. Comes with 50min domestic calls too.

Klook does incur dcc on your credit card since they’re not a local company but you can easily offset with shopback.

Theres also an option for those who needs international calls at sgd13.55.

Above for hanoi airport pick up.

If you search the ho chi minh/da nang sim card options on klook, its even cheaper like sgd6+/5+ with hotel/ airport pick ups. Comes with both calls and data.

qoo10 wise, other than ICC theres another seller selling 120gb sim for $8.50. Data only sim I think.

I dont like wifi device as they are double negative. 1. more expensive (unless you are traveling in vietnam less than 4 days). Changi recommends 4 day wifi rental to vietnam cost $9 (after the promo code). 2. unless you get one wifi device per pax, have to stay physically together to use data. That's a real pain unless you travel with just wife and young kids and are always together. Also a hassle to have to charge both phone and wifi device, remember to return at changi upon return, damage and loss risk, must bring additional device out (prefer to travel as light as possible).Too many negatives.

Have a query. Is call time a must when using grab around vietnam? Will data only suffice? Thanks.

Same thoughts too. prefer to have the sim card on hand ...
when landing, can put sim card into the phone and use ...
no need go and find the shop to spend about 20min or so to get your sim card ...

Collection seems easy although not detailed.

Walk out of arrival gate, turn left and walk all the way to end of shops. Should be the shop with blue sign, based on a photo provided by someone in klook.

Yes, you need call time when using grab in hcm. I don't understand why they must call.
To confirm that it's a legit booking and at the same time re confirm your pick up location
Once confirmed, they will give you ETA.

Due to a few reasons
1) There are way too many small roads and paths in their city. Once you start taking grab-bike, you will know what I mean.
2) many places are not reflected on the map used by Grab.
3) if they really dunno the place, they will cancel the booking or ask you to rebook

I find that this is a nice local grab culture and something I grew accustomed very quickly.

thanks for tip!!!! btw whats the diff paying with paypal. no DCC?

Klook price is after converting from whatever currency to sgd. Price will differ a few cents everyday.

Anyway, by right i shld be using safra card to checkout. But paypal can bypass this rule.

a couple months back, someone freaked out over the idea of using sim cards not properly registered under his name. :)

If you are referring to klook, then yes legit. You go to a proper counter at the airport and they set up for you. Unless the person doesn’t register the card under your name. But that can happen anywhere, not just klook.

My sim card is also under someone else name. I bought the sim card from a market stall, but later went to vinaphone authorised centre to change to 4G. But now in the app, it showed a viet guy name. But as long can use, i don't bother.
