Hi guys, was thinking of skipping Halong Bay and go to Ha Giang province instead.

Any idea how long I should stay at Ha Giang area and how I should go about around there? There's very little information about Ha Giang so any pointers will be much appreciated!

Ha giang is a secondary town near Hanoi.
Always been a stopover before going to Ha long bay. That's why not much info
Must ask your hotel staffs.

But I know the famous green bean cake is from there.

yours is a different ha giang.

the more popular ha giang is located at the north west corner of vietnam. people usually go to ha giang town and then rent motorbike to make a loop around the province.

minorities, mountains and karst landscape, border markers and garrisons, probably the biggest flagpole in vietnam and a glimpse into china are among the attractions.

Besides AE&M, what other hotels in D1 is recommended? Just need to be clean and safe. No need girl friendly. Below $50.

You mean $50 per night?
Aplenty. A simple search using agoda or booking.com or Expedia will reveal tons of hotels within this budget.
Comes with breakfast and parking

Recommend to visit ninh binh as the inland Halong Bay of Vietnam. Can visit hoa lu citadel too at the same time.

Just a day trip which start from morning n back to Hanoi

Do try the famous goat bbq meat in ninh binh.

About 2-3 hrs from Hanoi

Ninh binh was a filming site for kong skull island

Plenty of bars and clubs for you and your friend to chill

WL or FL... Well... It's part of the nightlife culture even though it is illegal on the surface

Just for information sharing, went to change my vnd at arcade just now. was given 500k and 50k notes. heng, not too many pieces in total. probably will try to get some 100k and 200k when we are there.

for usd, was given 50s, though my colleague said he got 10s, 20s, 100s for his recent trip, guess it depends what they have.
