u planning on a free and easy tour? every ad and price varies depending on what flight, hotel accomodation and programs included i guess.you could call them up for clarification. or you can just opt to book a budget airlines on internet (jetstar, tiger air..etc) and then book hotel from me

Hey Guys, I have been search for information on a trip to Vietnam and came across this thread. Anyway I got a few questions to ask, hope you guys can help me out.

Basically, from what I understand, it is generally good to go to Vietnam towards the end of the year and at the start of the year, as the weather is much cooler. As opposed to now, where it is summer...

So far I was planning to spend about 4 - 5 days there and with the short amount of time I have, I know it is redundant to cover too many places. As such I was thinking of just Hanoi and maybe a over night stay at Ha Long Bay (Spelling?).

I have heard rumours that you can get Nike cheap there as they have a factory located in Vietnam, any truth to that? I hope you all would be able to verify this as I am an avid Nike fan...

And Is there any thing I would have to see/visit when I am there? I understand its impossible to squeeze in too much with such a short period, however the lack of leave dictates the duration of holiday I guess..

yes we do. but we usually cater private tours with private transport, private guide etc.. or are you looking at open tours?

yes its chillyat the start and end of the year for the northern side, its just rumours, Nike can be far more expensive here than Singapore since they rarely have promotional discounts, and they import most of the raw materials to manufacture the nike shoes. it also of course depend on what model your are looking at, some models might only be available in Vietnam and not elsewhere hence making a worthy buy abeit a little more costly sometimes?

Halong Bay - Cruise in Halong Bay..limestone caves..(maybe not as magnificent as China ones)

hey gys just for your information there is a vietnam computer expo from 12 july - 17 july 2008, hotels during this period will beeither full or a little more expensive, if you guys are coming on this peiod, please make sure you book in advance to avoid sleeping on the streets..

Offer me some Good hotel or guesthouse in Saigon as my budget for a person is less than US$10. For me, i have a total of 2 person traveling(me and a friend). However, i would like to do a reservation and hope to pay up on the day i am arriving. Will be arriving on the 15th July from Nha Trang. As i be moving around, so i hope to only find a short stay. I have planned to travel to Mekong for a 2 day 1 night tour? Any recommendation for that?

My intended stay in vietnam is from 6th July (touching down in the evening) to 19th July (flying off at 2pm). I will be starting my journey from Hanoi - Hue - Hoi An - Nha Trang - Saigon (city and mekong). Please advise me on what offers you have for my trip. As i am doing backpacking, so i have certain budget constraints....
