Just checking, my wife keep getting buffering when watching youku. Do you ?

I don't get that from PPTV.
Previously youku (both using app and thru website)was acceptable, 300k+, sometimes could even watch 1080P. But for the past week speed is really slow, usually less than 100k. Letv speed used to be very good, better speed than youku but speed has dropped also.
Was trying to watch movie last night on youku/Letv, but too much buffering even on 高清. So tried using my iphone hotspot (Starhub 4G) + VPN. No buffering even on 超清! I am not sure whether the slow speed is related to the lastest DHCP issues but hopefully viewqwest can look it.

Lan wires

Dear Bros,

Have you guys ever wondered what type of Lan wire(s) you're using to connect to your PC/Laptop?

background: i upgraded my plan to 2gb (super excited), and even bought the asus RT-AC87U unit. Now, after setting it up, me and the VQ CSO both are puzzled as to why my macbook pro (mid-2010) can't achieve past 610mbp D/L speeds! i mean i'm not super-specific that it has to hit 1Gb speeds, but at least 850?

So my noob question: could it be the old Lan wire (provided by VQ technician when i first got the zhone router) does not support faster speeds?

Very lousy service from ViewQwest

1) Told me my first appointment was on 6april and 2nd appointment was 10th april
2) Contacted me last week and told me they will have to postpone the appointment because of some problem with the fiber infrastructure. Gave me the choice of fiber takeover but I rejected
3) Today, an Indian called me and said he is coming down to fix ViewQwest (What???? I thought you cancel the appointment?)
4) My family member was at home. Told me the installation took 10mins

Found it was total crap

1) Where is the Asus router and the tablet?
2) Speedtest.net on Ipad Air 2 is only 80Megabit/sec using Viewqwest server, with me sitting next to the router. CSO told me is normal (not sure on this.) Even on viewqwest download speed section of the invoice, the technician wrote 700Mbps. I thought it was 1gbps (or at least somewhere there)?
3) Where is the one voice I subscribed?
4) Called the CSO and the sales support told me Asus router was OOS
5) Called technical support and the guy was not knowledgeable. Wasted 15 mins talking to him. No help at all. I wanted technician to come down to fix the mess but he was unwilling.
6) I keep telling him I using Mio home and he told me to pull the ethernet wire from singtel modem to Zphone. I told him it will cut the phone connection with him and he insisted no. In the end, I pull and the phone went dead. So angry that I don't bother calling him again
7) Told me he don't know whether Singtel router can work with Viewqwest. If it don't work, then I still have to keep singtel connection to use the wired connection. The modem is in the electrical box and you cannot expect me to buy a Cat6E to pull from my computer to the electric box where viewqwest modem is located (People will trip and fall).

During my 2 years with Singtel has 0 problem. With viewqwest there problem on first day

Regretted signing up for viewqwest

Minimum Cat5e Ethernet cable.

The computer specifications such as network adapter, HDD and etc also play a part on the connection speed.

xRenol bro,

I did a teamviewer session with a VQ cso. he went thru my laptop's specs and decided its better for a on-site consultation.

honestly, i'm not sure the Category-level of the Lan wire that was provided 2 years ago...

Hi I am renewing my contract with viewqwest. Is the Zhone 2426 the best ONT they have or are there any newer better options. I will be using the ASUS RT-AC68U with the ONT

hey coldcoffee, I may not be the best person to reply, but i'm glad you've decided to recontract with VQ. what i'm doing with the 2gb plan is the Zhone acts as a bridge, while the asus provides the unwavering speeds.

Zhone is free but they do provide asus routers (you gotta pay abit more).

You can just monitor while waiting for the on-site consultation. :)

Updated. To be fair the tech supervisor Joni called me and explained things. He seems to have very good technical knowledge compared to the technician. I accept his explanation and he say he will send a guy over on Monday to solve the problem. At least this Joni guy is good. Hope this problem will be solved on Monday

What browser are you using? Depend on browser , my 1Gbps have different speed on surface pro. Firefox give me 4-500, chrome around 600, and only IE can achieve 9++.

Are you using speedtest to test your connection speed?

Today was my 2nd appointment and everything went smoothly. All set up within 30 minutes, so far so good. Only thing is I need to send an email to CS for the free speed boost, but no reply from them yet...

could be your anti virus slowing down the speed if you have real time checking of internet traffic enable. Try disable and see if it helps!

I had the MR 200mbit trial earlier and wanted to give VQ a go, I picked the 200mbit VQ no-contract plan and had a FTO done.

I have to say, it all went flawlessly. The FTO was approved in time, the tech from VQ arrived at my condo at the time specified and setup the VQ Zhone box and I had internet as planned.

It was a bit of a pain returning the MR modem (@ AMK Hub) due to the distance, but I have to say I was impressed at how hassle free the entire process was.

VQ fly me aeroplane

took leave for 2nd appointment installation today. 4-6pm appointment. on site tech called at 5pm said he needs another 1 hour to collect the MikroTik router. but waited 2 hours before I call him again. He said NOC(office tech support team) has taken over the case. Apparently, main office rejected him from withdrawing the router for my installation when he went back to office. on-site Tech also said NOC, having taken over the case, should have call me immediately earlier.
I didn't fault the on-site tech and call the office tech support.
at 7pm, office tech support said he has to call processing team and said will call me back in a short while about 10minutes. waiting 30minutes before I call again. Then he said there is there has been some miscomm and the next earliest installation date is Monday. He apologised but I demanded for a manager to call me back within half hour. just hit 30minutes now and no one has called back. is this the kind of service you guys are getting? I'm switching from crap service provider MR, am really disappointed and regretting now. is there any provider that can provide proper service?
