Visa required for SG passport unless you are holding Aussie PR. You can believe your friends if you wish. You will be denied check-in by check in staff at Changi without a valid visa to Australia.

Thanks for the help with my VISA application. I've checked both against the Aussie Immigration website and looks like everything's in order!
