Hi everyone, I’m planning to visit Taiwan with my friend from China in January 2025. We’ve been trying to apply for a visa since May, but it still hasn’t been approved. Has anyone successfully obtained a visa for their PRC spouse or friend?

Your friend residing here or still in China???? You might want to check with the taiwan representative office

He is residing and work here . He went thru a travel agency to apply for the Visa , they said recently even PR also rejected.
So I thought maybe there are other agency with higher success rate .

request take back passport and go apply yourself better and you can act as the sponsor.

For China passport holders, either they sign up as part of a tour package or a local Taiwan company invites him to Taiwan. Else it's gonna be difficult to get a Taiwan visa for a China passport holder.

My husband is Taiwanese and working in China. His Chinese colleagues can't get a tourist visa to visit Taiwan and bring them family along. If they visit Taiwan for work, it's easier to get the visa. But for work purpose visas, they can't bring their spouse and child(ren) along.

That saying, make a trip to the Taipei Representative Office in Alexandra. They probably can give better and accurate advice.

Chances are higher if the Chinese gets his/her Singapore spouse to sponsor his/her visa application using the Chinese passport. It helps if the Chinese has residency here. Better check at the Taiwan representative office at the mTower Building (aka PSA Building). Approvals are less common these days for widely known reasons. Private travel direct from China is severely restricted.
