Tax free qr option? Did you mean custom qr code?

Suggest doing on their own. Can go to different queues. Clearance can be faster compared to using one phone for the family.

The first thing on the form is ask you want this tax-free QR code? I am not sure what this is. I was also thinking each family do themselves more straight forward too but want to hear if others have different experience.

Anyway for now visit Japan Webb serves same functions of submitting vaccination or test certificates for review, generation of qr codes for immigration and customs.

Thing is if family did for themselves they may need mobile data as free wifi at the airport may be slow.

For me a definite yes.
It's much faster.

In Feb I landed in kix at 21.10. went through everything, got my icoca and boarded the train at 22.00.

Anyway expected to be changed in may. Wait for official announcements.

Yes, can login beforehand ard, then just open the page when reach there

just flash the QR code and move when i arrive at osaka.

do screen capture the QR code. to make life easier . else you have to get the free wiif from airport then log in to the website...

Ah, thanks. That means each one of us register individually, screenshot the qr code, then each one just show their own qr code. That’s the only thing to show.? Nothing else? No more that blue screen?

u can register as a 'family'' too. but means both have to move together.

for osaka ,there is a last part that i was sent to a terminal to like 'verify' the info again ,before i was sent my way. not sure if other japan airport are the same. but certainly doing the online forms and just flashing my QR code help things process faster

Last part of at the terminal to scan customs qr code, take photo. Same with KIX.

if register as Family, what happens at the Immigration counter in Japan ?

... bcos the ICA clearance is 1 at a time & usually there is a staff that ushers you to the respective counter

my wife n I was separated and she not sure how to operate the VJW that I also installed for her

.. I had to back track to her ICA Counter to show the Officer her VJW status on the phone ... (the Officer was ready to send her to manual check in, thinking she did not complete VJW)

i registered my wife n I with 1 account, using the Family option

We both could log in to the same account at the same time, using different phones (not sure if there is a limit)

If registered as family, there is a drop down menu to select the relevant Individual Member's status on the phone to show the ICA Officer

... those not phone savvy may have issues

Would help a lot if at the ICA Counter, they allow Family to clear as a Group (especially those with elderly or kids) ... not sure ...

Experience that in kix. 3 of us registered in my phone. Passed my phone around we're at different counter. Wasn't crowded.

Thing is needs data for whichever phone is used. Heard wifi at airport can be slow etc.

Vaccination or test certificate submission don't have qr code. It will show as previewed (if submission is successful).
This can be done in one phone. Just need to show one person at a time. I was asked to show the webpage and take a screenshot for everyone in the family.

QR codes is for immigration and customs.
