So far Chinese reviews are all positive...

I'm not against Samsung fold , I was early adopter of the first gen fold... However with Samsung narrow screen, it always force me to open to do even very simple task. Thus friends who asked if they should get Samsung fold I have always persuade them against.

With Oppo and now Vivo, I really think this is the time to embrace folding phones. The wider or usual screen size of the exterior will allow u to operate 1 handed whilst giving u the benefit of having bigger wider screen when required

Can't wait to receive the vivo

What if get from there...will they lock the device to their local SIM you think?
Wah, you got a very good point there. Didn't thought of sim lock.
Perhaps can go little India there and ask those Indian sellers?
If really want global set, have to be patient and wait bah. Once available in India with global Rome, I'm sure can get from online sellers here.

The usage compromises to get a CN Rom set is not for me, especially when you plonk down good money for a product. If these China brands don't regard their overseas market enough to launch a Global Rom Variant then I will spend my money on those that launches a Global Variant instead.

Though interested in foldables... still not going into foldables due to all the horror stories on screen maintenance/issues. 🙃
User of Fold 1 to 5, no problem with all units except inner factory screen protector will need to change after 1 year or so. Just have to be careful with inner screen. If unit is out of warranty, no logic to repair due to high cost. So I normally trade in when new models are released.

Yeah, so avoiding due to the uncertainty, some users reported facing issues within 1/2 years..

I have had a few foldables but never kept them long. Paranoid over screen damage over longer use period. So usually offload after a short while for the kick of using it.

Right, too much of a hassle, and the risk of internal screen damage is too high. Once its damaged, I believe the resale value gets real low.

Hahaha same here. iPhone no need to think, just buy. Maybe their support is there. Even if self import or buy from overseas also no need worry. Cos international warranty. No cn or global rom nonsense.

The problem with modern smartphones gives us anxiety: green lines, dead/stuck pixels, screen burn-in, creasing, hinge wear, and bloated batteries :s13:

Every phone maker or model would have their fair share of quality issues.

I am confident with the newer Chinese made phones. I believe the time has come where we should accept that Chinese makers regardless of 3C or cars are of equal quality such as Korean or US.

The specs and usability of Fold 3 pro wins me over.

Bite the bullet and fingers crossed
