I don't think iqoo 13 targets for photo enthu.
definitely not. which is why i think it's weird why they skim on the USB port for X200, X200 Pro Mini, and Find X8, cause photo enthusiasts are probably the ones who will appreciate faster transfer speed since they are also the type that will likely want to import photos/videos to desktop for post processing? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ even last gen realme gt5 pro also had USB 3.2, so likely the upcoming gt7 pro will have too. unless i'm mistaken of course and ppl buying these camera-centric phones don't care and just edit on their phones? but still, being more expensive but still cheapening out on those things, especially the ultrasonic sensor, is a bit disappointing.

iQOO 13 just announced, and it has USB 3.2 Gen 1, the charger is still the USB-C version, and got ultrasonic sensor too unlike the X200 and X200 Pro mini. so far SD8Elite seems to have a small edge over D9400 too. and both those vivo models are priced higher than the iQOO 13. looks like really have to pay premium for camera performance and Zeiss branding. :ROFLMAO: the USB port one in particular i really don't get. for a photography/videography focused series, why limit USB 3.2 to the X200 Pro only but not the other 2. Same like OPPO with their regular Find X8. Even Xiaomi also just give USB 3.2 Gen 1 to the regular Xiaomi 15. sigh...
More towards gamers bah iqoo

oops... my hand too itchy liao... made a last minute impulsive decision and order for oppo find x8 pro, collecting at 11.40pm later.
How's your user experience? So you order the china set? Would it have any impact? And would there be limitations?

Oppo Find X8 Pro is also another smooth AF phone. Compared to vivo X200 Pro, Find X8 Pro,

- feels nicer to hold
- fingerprint sensor (vivo one is higher on the screen due to diff hardware)
- volume control button a bit too high up on the right but on the left there is the volume switch (sound on, vibrate, slient)
- speakers are fuller
- oppo font is nicer too look at
- ColorOS really like iPhone (like 就是这样子咯). Clean, neat, smooth. OriginOS nicer to play with.
- ColorOS updates (official or beta) not as often as OriginOS.
- the shutter button is super duper nice to press than iPhone 16 Pro/Max, makes taking selfies easier.

- (difficult to see but) slightly brighter display (don't really like the auto-slight-dim for certain apps even when auto-brightness is deactivated. I think this applies only to local china apps)

- camera wise (each has it's own style both are relatively good - all photos once snapped will be AI'nized). for zoom and night scene, vivo is better. I personally feel for Find X8 Pro, shots taken above 26.6X (600mm) is for sure not very clear, post photo processing depends on how smart the AI is. Oppo's default camera mode already has proHDR filter that cannot be deactivated. depending on the environment lightings and weather conditions, shots taken on this mode can look quite nice and fresh while the darks areas are... dark with some details. for vivo, shots taken are also nice though not as bright and fresh (but can be edited within the photo album), darks areas in the photo are much more detailed. Oppo's movement capture (burst shot la) is something to highlight - clear and fun. Oppo has HEIC format like in iPhone but vivo don't have. HEIC takes up lesser bytes.

- post photo: all china phones now utilizes AI to make photos better like taken with 1" sensor, that's this year a lot of china phones the sensors are new but potong'ed version. In terms of image processing, I think both on par bah. Sometime Oppo's AI does a better job while some other times, Vivo's is better. However, Oppo has a 2 or 3 better photo editing features - like remove reflection, convert burst shots to GIF, etc.

- live photos: oppo one is better (like iOS one) and can apply filters whereas vivo's live photo is a package of 1-photo + 3s clip, but sharing Live Photos or uploading to apps is not fully supported, except for Xiao Hong Shu and certain versions of WeChat.

- Find X8 Pro can share stuff to iPhone directly via NFC - this one is "bull-sheet" (something they didn't really say in detail is iPhone need to install an app called O+ something. I think this one Oneplus last time have liao).

- poor office suite connectivity for Mac (vivo is better because also support usb-c cable transfer and has it's own OriginOS calendar plus can mirror phone on monitor, Oppo cannot) - this won't apply if you are using PC

- battery wise on par IMO (local phone reviews show on par results also)

Again, can use non local apps or not - my list of SG apps installed on both Vivo OriginOS/Oppo ColorOS and used with no issues:
- Google Play Store
- Chrome
- WhatsApp
- GitHub
- Medium
- X (Twitter)
- OSOME
- Facebook
- Instagram
- DBS Banking
- DBS PayLah
- Aspire
- Singpass
- Google Authenticator
- Google Cloud
- MS Office 365
- MS Authenticator
- My Simba
- Tapo
- YouTube

Tested and works smoothly:
- G-suite Apps (Keep, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail)

It has been announced that Find X8 Ultra will be launched during Spring (Mar/Apr) next year while X200 Ultra will be launched earlier than X100 Ultra this year (meaning possible also Mar/Apr).

My verdict:
I will switch my Oppo Find X8 Pro for Vivo X200 Ultra (but still keep my black Oppo Enco X3 earbuds - really AirPods Pro 2 ANC alternative) because I still prefer OriginOS and it's office connectivity for Mac. In terms of the photography, I myself also dunno - both really good. The times when I compare my Find X8 Pro shots with my bro's X200 Pro's shots (ermm... I traded my X200 Pro away), sometimes I like Oppo better, sometimes I like Vivo better. This one really have to see personal preference, my partner who is a pro-photographer, in his POV, he prefers Vivo most of the time, he says more original while Oppo one is like already got filter built-in.

For concert and lots of night photos, go for Vivo X200 Pro, 512GB at least (because they don't have HEIC format), and OriginOS. I don't recommend FuntouchOS (international version). I think Vivo will be bringing in X200 and/or Pro to Malaysia.

You can try Oppo Find X8 Pro when prefer:
- Fuji-style filters
- Better Live Photos
- iOS UI
- ColorOS is more international IMO

Not sure if it’s the same as on CN colorOS on the OnePlus Ace 3 I tried, but I was able to install play store from their built in App Store. If can’t, then have to sideload the apk that can be found online. I think those importers should already be familiar with region lock stuff for recent Oppo OnePlus devices, but no harm checking with seller to make sure beforehand I guess.

Edit: just realised it’s the Vivo x200 thread so you might be asking about that instead of find x8 lol. But it’s the same pretty much. Can install play store from the built in App Store on originOS. AFAIK Vivo hasn’t done any region lock stuff yet?

For those who are holding vivo/iqoo phones with OriginOS 5, here's some tips on how to get your Google Account working properly with Google Apps and any other Google-reliant apps.

(a) When downloading Google Play Store app, sideload from APKMirror. Choose the latest version (current one is 43.3.23-31[0], select the one that is APK/univeral/Android 12+/nodpi (not BUNDLE).

(b) At the same time, download Google Play Services. Choose the latest (or latest Beta) version (current latest beta version is 24.44.31, select the one that is APK/arm64-v8a + armeabi-v7a/Android 12+/nodpi (again, not BUNDLE).

Strongly recommend that you download your Google Apps all from Google Play Store, and not Vivo App Store (even though available here) because Vivo App Store's Google Apps most have got a lower version which may conflict with syncing. An example is Google Password Manager. Your desktop Chrome will have all the passwords but your mobile Chrome may not sync properly. Most of the time is because your Google Play Services is not updated to the latest version.

Once in a while, you can repeat (a) and (b) to ensure that these 2 key apps especially for (b) is updated to the latest. I reckon this is also key to ensure Android Auto and Pixel Watch to work properly with vivo phones. I have seen Chinese tech bloggers use vivo phones with their Google accessories successfully.

------

For notifications, on first use, you may experience things like "eh how come my Whatsapp cannot receive notifications". Make sure you check Settings > Apps > App Manager > Whatsapp > Permissions > All Permissions, turn on Autostart.

This is what I did to ensure smooth and proper experience with OriginOS 4 and 5:
- update to the latest version of OriginOS (usually the new version trial)
- delete any apps that I don't use (including deletable system or built-in apps)
- do (a) and (b), then install all my apps from Google Play Store
- those apps that cannot be deleted, I will do an ADB (not root) to uninstall via my mac terminal (e.g. browser and baidu keyboard). vivo input pro cannot be uninstalled. you can google search on this (don't anyhow uninstall ah wait brick the phone)
- login in to all apps first (on/off notifications and permissions at this moment not important. can do later)
- switch off all ads (can go Xiao Hong Shu and check guide)
- go back to Settings > Apps > App Manager, tap the 2-dot icon on the top right on the screen, tap Reset app preferences. (This clears any multiple notification configurations by Android and/or the App)
- off/on your phone
- then go to Settings > Apps > App Manager and set your apps notifications/permissions to your own preference.
