A fresh leak suggests the vanilla Vivo X300 will feature a big main camera upgrade. The base model is rumored to pack a 200MP main sensor (1/1.4-inch Samsung HPB) and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. This signals a major leap in photographic capabilities for Vivo’s upcoming flagship series.

There is big news for mobile photography enthusiasts and fans of Vivo’s flagship smartphones. The company launched the first models in the X200 series last October. Now, a fresh leak has just provided key details about the camera sensors in the upcoming Vivo X300, the base model in Vivo’s next-generation lineup.

For years, Vivo’s “X” series has been known for its strong camera capabilities. The latest leak hints at an X300 continuing that tradition with some nice improvements.

200MP main camera sensor for the Vivo X300

One area where the current base Vivo X200 could see enhancement is its main sensor size. While capable, it isn’t as large as some competitors or even other models within its own series. The latest leak points directly to a welcome upgrade in this very aspect. According to reliable tipster @nakajimegame on X/Twitter, the Vivo X300 will feature a massive 200MP main camera sensor. This sensor is reportedly a Samsung ISOCELL model, likely under their “HPB” branding. It will have a good 1/1.4-inch size. The tipster suggests it’s an “HP9 derivative,” meaning it could share many core specifications with this sensor.

For reference, the current Vivo X200 uses a 50MP main camera sensor with a 1/1.56-inch size. So, we see a big leap not only in megapixel count but, more importantly, in sensor size. This generally translates to better light gathering and image quality, especially in challenging conditions.

The leak doesn’t stop there. The Vivo X300 is also expected to include a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor with a 1/1.95-inch size. This particular sensor could be a Sony IMX882 or LYT600.

A powerful camera phone

A previous report suggested that the Vivo X300 is powered by the Dimensity 9500 chip. So, not only does it excel in photography, but it could also be a real powerhouse.

Official details about the Vivo X300 series launch date are still under wraps. However, given the background, it could happen sometime in October. The base Vivo X300 might arrive alongside the Vivo X300 Pro, whose specs remain a secret for now. A more premium and even more powerful “Vivo X300 Ultra” is also a possibility, although it might arrive later in 2026.

If these improvements are true, even the base version of the X300 series will offer powerful photography capabilities. This starts hype for the potential camera improvements that the “Ultra” variant could bring to the smartphone lineup. Hopefully, more details will emerge soon.

Actually vivo x200 pro is already a very powerful videography device despite not having 1 inch sensor.. from previews the main improvements for upcoming x300 are mainly battery life, thermals, and cinematic portrait videography..

1 inch or not is just a marketing gimmick la.
But 1/2.76 and 1/1.28 is big difference.
I like at least 1/1.5 for my Ultra wide so that videos will be better.

The 35mm is overhyped. For 10 years in mobile photography no one talk about it. Zte had a 35 mm for 2 or 3 years no one talk about it.
Vivo had it and suddenly it's the next best thing in photography?

Tbh 24 mm is more useful for closer shooting , eg at home, around table etc which is representative of real world usage. I need longer I go 2x at 46mm can already

If they give the x300 pro a 1/1.t inch Ultra wide , it's good enough for me already.

better to get from vivo malaysia as my last visit to vivo midvalley jb at late aug confirmed tat the 4 yrs screen vertical line warranty policy will be valid for a long time as they r benchmarking to screen vertical line policy on vivo china.

unfortunately, vivo sg only give std 2yrs warranty regardless of wat vivo malaysia and vivo china is doing.

according to weibo, x300 series will be full departure from samsung screen panel as compared to x200 which still has mixed supply from boe and samsung.

for me, atm, i'll only buy from whoever provides longest warranty on screen vertical line issue. 3 units of mobile (2 vv x80 + 1 s23) r 3yo in 2026, guess vivo malaysia x300 will be my household choice~

I will be in Xi'an on 14 Oct, and considering that the X300 series is launching on 13 Oct evening, does anyone know would it be possible/viable to get the X300 in the stores? Is there such a thing as Official Vivo Store there? Will it be like long queues overnight that kinda thing? 😐

Thanks for your reply. Not sure about the logistics of online & delivery though but will probably just see how it goes... so Vivo not so popular compared to the others huh .... actually I think later in the week, a competitor Oppo also launching a X phone
