2. you can self-study but you still have to go for course to complete the certification
3. approx 3-4k SGD

VMware Short Courses at ITE

Hi Valenti,

To add what Gribber described on the reply, ITE offered two short courses related to VCP Certification (I'm not sure if they are available in 2015) as part of their Professional Development Program:
1. DESKTOP & SERVER VIRTUALISATION USING VMWARE (BASIC)
2. DESKTOP & SERVER VIRTUALISATION USING VMWARE
(ADVANCED)

The total cost for both courses is less than $1.5K with VPC-DCV5 exam voucher when I took it back in 2012.

The only catch is, if ITE is unable to have minimum 10 attendees per session, they will cancel the course - I'm not sure if their policies have changed.

Please PM me if you need further info and I DO NOT work for ITE to promote their Professional Development Program.

If IDA did not change the citrep scheme, you should be able to claim back 50% of the course(inclusive of the exam).
Please note most of the people who attended the vcp course are actually sent by their company, who bought vmware product and are entitled to some training credits.

implementation method is different

but the gist are the same.

There is no self-study option for this course, I took my certification at avantus training.
