I am using UnoDNS from UnoTelly though. Works pretty well for me. Not exactly a VPN service but you tunnel through their servers too. It shouldn't affect your speed to other destinations.

Old thread but I'm wondering has much changed over time. I'm with IBVPN after getting it for a good price not long ago and their customer support has been amazing with helping me set it up on my spare wifi router for me. Problem is the U.S. Server I selected is slow (2-3Mbps) which pales in comparison to my usual speeds of about 290Mbps according to speed test. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for which server in the U.S. would be best for Netflix from Singapore?

Server list: http://www.ibvpn.com/product/server-list/

Without VPN and rough Starhub provided router:

With VPN currently:

I am subscribed to Netflix and don't use any vpn.
Just change your DNS server to 122.248.238.233
This is UnoTelly Smart DNS btw. I'm not subscribed to it but it is still functional.
I get max resolution always on 200mbps M1 fibre.

Netflix is coming to Spore.. will it be better to get locally or get US Netflix ?

UnoTelly Smart DNS is not free..

Which is Astrill Singapore (US) server?
https://www.astrill.com/servers.php

anyone use Astrill on router?
anyone get the ProAddon as it has RouterPro VPN?
https://www.astrill.com/sign-up.php?plan=12

RouterPro VPN: Brings better security with 2-layer encryption. Supports Fast mode - allows speed on your router from 20 mbit/sec or more. Standard OpenVPN solution is limited to about 8-10 mbit because of slow CPU in your router. Works even in countries with high censorship, like China, UAE, Syria, etc.

I'd stick with Netflix US, mainly because the content we get in the local version may be limited and most likely get censored version as well. If you are already watching Netflix then you will get what I mean...hahah. ;)

Actually there is no need to use VPN if you just want to view Netflix. The previous post above already showed its possible to configure UnoTelly DNS to access Netflix. I'm not sure how UnoTelly authenticate users but it appears that theirs work as open DNS resolvers.

You can try configure your device(PC/laptop/tablet/media box) DNS to 122.248.238.233 and try accessing www.netflix.com before and after to see the difference. If you are accessing from multiple devices, eg. casting to Chromecast, then will need to configure the DNS on the router.
