I ordered some hair tonic from Amazon and it was shipped to Comgateway. Now CGW informed me that the product is labelled as flammable and cannot ship by air to singapore.

Anyone encountered something similar before?

Yeah.. So now you only got 2 options.
1) Discard the package away
2) Get them to return the package. But they will charge a fee for returning the package.

I emailed Amazon about my problem and they said they will refund me without me having to ship back. Well done Amazon

Hi everyone, I gave GShipExpress a try based on recommendations here, but I encountered this issue. I was charged based on the dimensions of the volumetric weight of the shipping cartons of my packages, but they were shipped out sans the shipping cartons. The items themselves were much smaller than the cartons. The first reply I got from them regarding this issue is that it's to "save shipping cost". But in this case it's only to save costs for them.

Has anyone encountered this? Isn't it fraudulent to charge me for more than what was shipped?

UPS tracking shows it was delivered on 28 May 9AM (Portland Time)
I just got the notification that it was added to my account. 4 Working days to send me an email to update. So far not looking good.

Then comes the measurements - 0.4kg Actual, 1.02kg Volmetric. Chargeable 1.5Kg
What the ??
I can't tell if this is repacked (if you use FEDEX you can see the exact package dimensions but not on UPS)

If they remove the box as well and charge me this 1.5KG then I'm going to be really pissed.

I find it baffling how they managed to do this too. It seems to me the measurements were not updated after repacking. Because the measurements for one of the packages are those of a carton I've received before from the same merchant. My items are collectible toys where the box condition affects their value. Two of them were damaged, but they say cannot claim insurance.

They've conceded that they overcharged by 3.5 kg. This is less than the 4.5 kg excess that I calculated. Their reasoning is poly bags increase the volume of items. To me this is rubbish. We pay for the extra padding provided by cartons because it's extra protection. Then may as well just put shipping labels on my items.

What's really aggravating now is they refuse to refund me cash, only in credit. I have no use for their credit as I'm not going to use their service again. I think it's unfair practice to withhold cash refunds for their own overcharging. I've raised a dispute with PayPal, which I used for this transaction. If I used a credit card I would have raised one with the bank. I have clear evidence of their over charging.

I'm sure many of you have had good experience with GShip Express, as I ship mostly fragile collectibles, I cannot afford for them to decide without consulting me that my items are not fragile.

Just to share, i got similar 4 days experience as yours. But what I understand is standard repacking will take 1-2 working days upon arrival at warehouse. And I think their warehouse operate 5 days (not over on weekend). So explaining the 4 days (including sat/sun).

You are damn lucky. 1.02KG VOLUMETRIC.. Haha.. So confirmed kanna 1.5KG. Same as CGW charging system.

Think you can write in to request them to see if your package repack further. If they can squeeze by another 0.2KG. Your charge will become 1KG. Worth a try !

I bought 5 clothing items from OldNavy. They ship 1 piece of clothing in one package to CGW, the other 4 pideces another package.

So 2 packages arrive at CGW, each 0.5kg, total 1kg chargeable weight. Don't know why OldNavy cannot ship all 5 pieces together to help save money for me

Pro Tip: If you've got many small, light packages, CGW can do a repack of multiple packages into one package, for $10. Email customer service to request this.

I know it is a bit late but it would've been great if some of the major forwarders (eg comgateway) had a standardised price for something which is a common item (e.g. an Apple watch from US to Singapore). It was because of the uncertainty and potential to get held to ransom (e.g. we order a watch and suddenly shipping becomes hundreds of dollars) that I didn't end up going with any of the forwarders but I would have if I had known the price for sure upfront.

If I have several packages like 7-8 packages. Some maybe bulky (Toys) and some maybe light (several piece of cloths), so I can request CGW to repack everything into a single package for the price of $10 ?

I already GG comgateway long time back due to several bad experience with their repacking. Now I trying gshipexpress for my usa items. Quite happy with their free repacking and their delivery speed. (got my package within 2 days..)

Please do not use VPost at all. Customer service is horrible and they aren't honest at all. They can't even put 2 plastics bags into one of my existing boxes when there are ample space. First before they ship back, they claimed that there isn't enough space. When I received the items, and called them to ask why they claimed that there isn't space. Their reply is that they don't do "consolidation". So much for trusting and using a Singapore brand.
