By right assessment of your package for repacking is free, it's the actual repacking that's chargeable. You meant to say they charged you just to assess your package?!

And yes, repacking is not the perfect solution, but it's certainly useful in the scenario you'd mentioned, which is common for Amazon's purchases. That's the reason why I said it's the best bet.

So does amazon normally ship in bulk box? Intend to buy 2 bluetooth earpc fm Amazon. Considering should i ship direct to Sin or tag w my 1 parcel in comGateway. 1st time buying fm Amazon =:p Any Amazon expert can advise?

Whenever possible, ship direct to SG so as to avoid paying for the possibility of Amazon using a crazily large box.

Just measure it since it's right in front of you, and you don't trust BDL.

If dimension is 4.5" x 11.5" x 15.5", BDL will round dimension to 5" x 12" x 16"
Got the answer from BDL.

Oh yes, that is unfortunately the practice, a sneaky one too I must add..

Repacking is not always available, it is just so for the packages that you have ordered. Your choice of merchant must love oversized boxes.

I have stopped using CGW for about 2 yrs already. Last time I encountered two types of repacking. The normal one was repacking was offerred without mention of assessment, i.e like you say auto. So this was straight forward. And only repacking fee is applied. The other thpe was rare cause, it happened only once out of more than 5 cases of normal repacking I encountered. For this second type repacking was not straight away offerred. There was only an option for me to click to assess for repacking, with an assessment fee stated. Assessment fee not refundable. However, I cannot remember whether if the assessment was successful would the assessment fee be absorbed in the final repacking fee.

I did not take the option because I did'nt like it at all.

Which is better: VPost / CGW?

Hi Guys

I want to try one of them out, have yet placed order on the US site.
Pls tell me in terms of Price Vs Reliability, VPost/CGW which is better?

My order should range from 1.5-2kgs including the packing materials, and from what I understand their boxes are like 31(L) x 30(B) x 16(H)cm from my friend's recent purchase, but she lives in the states so its always complimentary when she hits a certain amount.

Thnx

The repack now is screwed.

Sometimes it's possible to repack, sometimes it's not possible to repack. Sometimes they repack and they threw e boxes away. Sometimes they don't. Sometimes they took 3days to tell me it can't be repacked!

It depends on what they see when they open up your package.

Inside package got only 1 item. The item has its own smaller box. CAN REPACK.

Inside pacakge got only 1 item. But the item does not come in a smaller box, e.g., the original retail box. CANNOT BE REPACKED. Because they won't give another box to repack items.

Inside package got more than 1 items. Each item has its own smaller packing box. CANNOT BE REPACKED. Because they won't give another box to repack items. So if they were to just throw away the bigger box, it will be become 2 or more packages.

Inside package got more than 1 items, but loose, meaning to say each item does not have its own packing box. CANNOT BE REPACKED. Because remember they won't give you any box to repack. So if they were to just throw away the bigger box, your items would just be on the floor without any container.

This is what I think. Do correct me if I am wrong!

To me, vPost or CGW makes not much of a difference in terms of price and reliability. CGW should be slightly cheaper for 1.5-2kg of volumetric weight though.

vPost needs you to send them your invoice before your package arrives btw.
