I do a quick shipping cost calculation. It seems that priority tag is more expensive (without the 1st time $15 promo) than CGW. Is that right?

hmm...may not be that case if u use the promotion to ship on the 10th of the month?

if you use that, it would be much cheaper, thou it took quite awhile for my stuff to arrive.

Just received my items from priority tag. Overall experience is not too bad just that insurance cost is quite expensive so I did not actually pay for that as my items are not that expensive.
The 1st time $15 promotion is really good as I only paid half the price =D

As for the downside, the local courier was slightly late, as appointment is 2~5pm but he came at 5.40pm. Was charged an extra $3 due to storage charges as their free storage is only 21 days.

Pros:
Low price
Good promotion (1st time)
Prompt with local contact

Cons:
Expensive insurance
Late courier (not sure if it is a one time thing but I still feel this is acceptable)
short free storage period (21days). I get 60days from CGW.

Overall not a bad experience. Will consider for next shipment/s

are you sure its 60 days for cgw? is that for cgw prime member? I'm using hopshopgo and I only get 30 days free storage for being prime. Non-prime gets 15 days free storage.

Do you guys have this delay shipment in comgateway?

When you send the shipping order to them on July 12 01:30am, selecting Standard shipping method, they will not ship out immediately. They will delay till next week then they ship out. The actual shipping time (from the moment shipment starts with tracking number to reaching you) is probably only 3 days. But since you select Standard Shipping Method which is 6-8 working days (Express is 3-5 working days), they have the liberty to slot you into whatever available space in their container.

Do you have this problem with Vpost or Borderlinx?

If you want to get your package shipped on the same week using standard, need to make payment on wednesday the latest. They usually ship it on Friday. For express, you can make payment on Friday, and they usually will ship it on Friday too. Package sent on Thursday / Friday will usually arrive on Monday.

oops. sorry to mention, I am using borderlessbuys using Amex thus being prime. Not sure if it is 60 or 30~ Sorry if I was wrong there =)

Anyway the issue about the low storage is because of their promotion. As the promotion restricts you to ship on the 10th, you would probably miss it if your shipment arrives on 10th or later. Also there was no warning about this on the notification email from priority tag. I have actually feedback to them on this but not sure if they would extend the timing so we could always hit the ship on the 10th promotion. if you cant, then basically their rate is much more expensive.

It's normal. Time taken for a DHL AWB to be generated by CGW can vary between 2 to 6 working days for standard shipping. They can be fast but they can be very slow too.

For vPost, my experience tells me that they make 2 shipments every week from the US (start and end of every work week), so depending on when you instruct them to ship, it can take up to 2-3 working days for your shipment to be effected.

Not updated enough with Borderlinx to advise as I have stopped using them for quite sometime already.

For my borderlinx shipments, they usually ship out the next day. Shipping on Thursday/Friday, I can get my stuffs on Monday.

Borderlinx also "overcharge" GST

I came across this thread cause I'm having problem with the new customer service on borderlinx. I have used vpost before but find their process a bit troublesome (have to email invoice etc), but borderlinx not only overcharge on shipment, they also overcharge the GST!!

Vpost says that consolidated package don't have GST unless the individual package exceed SGD$400
www .vpost.com.sg/vpost/welcome.jsp?page=shipping_customsgst.html&option=0&lnav=shipping_sidenav_td.html

But borderlinx always collect GST upfront. Which previously is not a problem cause they refunded me the GST, but now the new customer service team say they are under "no obligation" to refund the GST and then when I ask for proof that GST is paid they say they are also under "no obligation" to send me proof!

Actually the CSrep got quite ugly, ask me where's my proof that they take my money without actually paying GST. Of course I have no proof lah! They are the ones who deal with customs what! My only proof is that they don't want to give me the document! I say screenshot also can but the CSrep say no we will not give you anything. Somemore say I am making "slanderous accusations" (really that's the word the CSrep use!)

I am very angry about this! But what to do... maybe can report to CASE?

That CSrep is rude!

I always thought gst is charged on per shipment. If you have 2 packages and you consolidate to send in one shipment, total weight is used to determine the shipping cost. Total value is used to determine gst.

In the vpost link, why is the individual package weight is used to determine shipping cost? It is not a consolidated shipment?

First time using CGW.
If I ordered items on amazon which total up to about SGD400,
And it weighs about 5kg,
How much roughly do I need to pay CGW total?
And how long does it take if I opt for standard shipping?
Thanks In advance!

It's not just about the weight. It can be 5kg but if volumetric weight is higher they will charge accordingly. U can get a quote online using their calculator .

P.S anyone spoken to their CGW chat, basket I got one shipment with 3 package, but one package cannot be shipped , so they asked me either discard or return, after giving them the instruction, my shipment is not sent out yet zzz

just to share my experience with vpost as there's a $20 off first-timers:

3 Aug - Ordered via US website
6 Aug - Reached Vpost USA
11 Aug- Reached Singapore
14 Aug- Self Collected from post office

Took around 5-6 working days for the shipment. Shipping was $21.71 inc. of fuel charges. Volumetric weight (on a envelope?!) is 0.9 kg (actual weight 0.3kg).

For the $1.71 i paid, can't really complain much. But I'm not keen in using them again as their website tracking system is not as clear as CWG.

Hi I am planning to try comgateway. Anybody know whether I can arrange the delivery time for the item so that I can be home to receive the parcel?
