ya, this is true. but if we compare to those pre covid days, the charges is double.

It depends on how you look at it. I had already booked for CNY trip for 7 nights. SQ Flight cost me $285/pax. Staying in Hyatt Erawan for $164/night
(CHEAP!!) with Breakfast except for first night which is $400ish that includes PCR and private transfer. Paid about <$60 for insurance which also covers back to SG firsts 14 days for COVID coverage. So if I add in the Pre-post flights PCR/ART costs, it will be about $300/pax.
But since there MIGHT be changes in Jan, I might pay lesser (fingers crossed).
*Thai Govt wanted to change the pre-departure from PCR to ART from Dec but decided not to due to omicron.
First Night in Hyatt $400ish:
2 PCR tests for 2 pax ~ $250
Private Transfer (camry) ~ $80 (Usually 5 Star hotel will charge around this price)
Hotel Stay with breakfast ~$164
I thought it was decent.
For other 4 stars hotels, it is around 7000Baht onwards for 2 pax for 1st night.
Subsequent nights, they are definitely cheaper around $100.
In this climate, the hotels' prices do come with either free cancellation or deposit 1 night. First night is non-refundable but make sure you buy your insurance NOW so it can help you with the cancellation fees $1000 or more depending on the insurance you buy if the trip is cancel due to COVID.
