On July 9th, Qian Xiaohao accepted an exclusive interview with Hong Kong's Headline Daily. From the photos released, he appears to have lost a significant amount of weight, with sunken cheeks and prominent neck muscles. However, he believes that external speculations about him suffering from a serious illness are unfounded. He somewhat helplessly remarked, "I think it's just fans trying to get attention. I look even more stylish now, with only a few wrinkles."
Despite temperatures soaring above 30 degrees Celsius on the day of the interview and Qian Xiaohao wearing a long-sleeved shirt, he couldn't hide his lanky frame. At 61 years old, he looks completely different compared to his public appearance in Taiwan eight months ago.
As for why he lost 20 kilograms, Qian Xiaohao revealed that since the pandemic began, he has been infected twice. While filming in Shanghai, China, he was forced to stay in a quarantine hotel, isolating him from the world with nothing to eat. "After returning to Hong Kong, my appetite has been poor, leading to more weight loss." He insists that he is currently in good health, continues to take his chronic illness medication, and there is no cause for concern.
