The question is do you need a pc badly? If not wait ba. Though not much difference in performance comparing to haswell in terms of gaming. If it's me I will wait, by then haswell price will drop and I will buy haswell, unless broadwell got something special or massive improvements

huh? i thought z97 is catered for the coming haswell-refresh cpus? as such, there is no ddr4 support since haswell memory controller doesn't support ddr4?

i know only x99 support ddr4 since haswell-e supports it...

hengheng220....no, the h/z 9 series is not meant for broadwell. it is still for haswell...

Since the 9 series are still catered for lga1150, i guess there isn't much difference to current 8 series. Probably the last mainstream chipset with ddr3 support, unless broadwell still support ddr3.

will the m.2 connector SSD be a game changer? that's what i'm more concerned with, cos it's such a significant upgrade from SATA3 SSDs in terms of read speed. Plus, i'm not sure if current SSDs will continue to be relevant when the new chipsets are released, because apparently most mobo makers will start offering m.2 versions of the 3,5,7 and 9 series mobo.

oh and i'm hoping someone could enlighten me as to the impact of devil's canyon on non-OCing users

It's not even a question in the first place because those few days waiting don't make a difference if you only need it for private use anyway.

If you can hold till 4th quarter (may stretch into 1st quarter 2015 for general local availability), by all means wait for Broadwell.

Otherwise, the refresh is not attractive.

Early motherboards of a new chipset often suffer from bugs, both hardware and software. Some of them are not rectifiable.
