walking around with laptop switched on

Hey guys,

Will the HDD inside my laptop fail if I walk around with the laptop switched on in my bag? I usually put the machine on sleep mode wen I am on the move.

No, when the laptop detects that the HDD is not in use, or the OS is in sleep mode, it will park the head of the HDD away so that it won't hit the platters and crash. So no worries. Why don't upgrade to an SSD? This way no worries at all... plus the laptop will wake and be usable inside 3 seconds.

Why not upgrade to Ssd since it is affordable now? Then you risk losing your data.

I will most probably do that once the warranty runs out... I dont keep too much info on the hdd anyway.. on the hdd is mainly just programs.. all the content is on the cloud.
