I don't care if this thread has been made, but it bears repeating, especially if you have an old notebook at least 3-4 years.

There are already several reports of black screens when booting in, BSOD and in at least 2-3 cases that I know of, overheating that causes mainboard/vga chip damage.

Don't believe me? Google search for 'Win 10 overheating'.

Resist the urge to upgrade unless you like being a sucke- I mean beta tester for Microsoft.

No issue running Windows 10 off a 5 year old ASUS laptop.
In the 2-3 cases that u know off, due to age, dust might have collected in the fan intake etc. Thus resulting in heat issues.

I air blow the vents of my laptop regularly and am in fact experiencing a faster experience due to lesser resources and not having to install redundant softwares that i don't need.

Upgrading doesn't mean that i'm a sucke- I mean beta tester for Microsoft.

Just to share: there are many Windows upgrading blotched cases that we are handling. Daily around 1-3 cases at our service centre, not including the service requests and calls.

We still can't conclude on the cause, it could be user fault, Windows issues, BIOS issues or drivers issues...
But it is true that there are quite some issues faced by users for Windows 10 upgrades. :)

If you are scared just strip off all the device drivers prior upgrading, Windows 10 will pull in all the relavant Device Drivers from Windows Update anyway.

Worse come to worst pull out user profile and wipe the rest.
