If your phone is always with you then no point to get cellular version. Whatsapp is not native to the watch though. If not wrong if u r away from phone then the whatsapp wont work even though you have active cellular.

Whatapps call wouldn’t work on Apple Watch. I try it before. Only message can.

Hello Guys,

Thanks for the update. Yeah, The nearest store will be at Orchard, went jewel ytd and it crowded as usual. Not sure if other retailer have the strap measurement for you to try or not.

Feel like ordering but... since everyone is saying that there is an measurement problem I would not take the risk. Is Blue aluminum nice?

But I am getting sport loops and it does not have size so I guess Im pretty safe?

Not true lah ...

I am on cellular, without iPhone i can receive WhatsApp messages lah ... i can even reply to the WhatsApp messages ...

For it to work, you must also have monthly subscription lah ... otherwise what’s the point of getting cellular AW ?

How much is the EPP discount for the SS 44mm model? Usual retail is S$1079.

Interesting. How does the watch knows there is a whatsapp message coming in when there is no native app on the watch and the phone is not with you.

If away from phone the whatsapp app wont work too right ? Or will still receive msg ?

Not very stable. Sometime there will be a delay of msg receiving from watch. That is what I have experience it.

Yes will still receive messages. Agree on the stability. At work half of the time I'm away from my phone and I still receive my WhatsApp msgs, but sometimes there are 'additional' msgs that I did not receive.

Can you explain bro manofsorrows question as to why we can receive WhatsApp messages when the iPhone is not near us ? I am not technical expert so I don’t know, I only know, like you, i can receive ... 😂

Thanks

Series 6 battery life (40mm)

Been using my series 6 for a few days. Battery life was good initially, but noise dived after iOS 14.01 ... so went to reinstall iOS 14.01 and restore and also unpair watch and restore .. then battery life was great again. Series 5 I would get around 18 hours or less. Series 6, easily at least 24 hours.

Sounds like WhatsApp is really not too good on Apple Watch for now. Unfortunately I estimate at least 70-80% of my incoming communication now are either WhatsApp messages or WhatsApp calls. ... that makes the cellular only more useful for running and stream music at the same time, at lease until WhatsApp decides to develop an Apple Watch app.

If you have the cellualr version of the watch, it acts like an extension of your phone. Technically speaking, if our phones are within range, the watch simply connects to the phone and receiving calls and msgs just like the GPS-only model.

Once out of BT range, cellular activates and it becomes a standalone device due to built-in eSIM. When a call, message, or even notification comes, the watch will notify you. Not only whatsapp but other apps should also do the same when notifications are enabled.

I only use SMS/iMessage and Whatsapp as my main source of texting, so can’t say the same for telegram, Wechat, etc.
