Unless times have changed, there's water confidence course in BMT for those who declare can't swim.

Thing is, others lepak in bunk while you go soak in the pool. :)

don't worry about the swimming part...

there are swimming lessons in BMT but they are not of high importance. priority is given to SOC, IPPT, etc.

whether you learnt to swim or not during BMT it will not affect your POP.

postings wise, you can still go command school.

just use this opportunity to try and lessen your fear.

they won't push you like they do for other physical training cos the risk of drowning/death is very high.

First swimming day they will ask u line up and swim a short distance. If u are able to swim then u pass, if u give up halfway/can swim but cant cover the distance then u fail the test.

From there u will be categorised into swimmer n non swimmer. Non swimmer will be taught how to swim in training pool.

Training pool not easy to drown but still possible. To drown u must faint and sink inside or have cramps on both legs so ur head is below water level.

Lifeguard is around and trainers should be keeping a look out. Be safe dun run around the pool or purposely submerge your friend's head in the water.
