I am looking at a external hard drive that i can connect to my router for use as a networked drive.

Probably getting either desktop (3.5') versions of WD Mybook or WD element.

As i understand it, the key differences are 1) WD element is not hardware encrypted and 2) WD element does not come bundled with backup software.

I would prefer the unencrypted version in case I need to recover any data from the drive in the future.

But i can't find anybody selling the 4tb desktop wd element drive here. Anybody knows where I can get one. Amazon sells it at USD 99 but i am not sure if the warranty will be honoured locally?
