WD Black 1TB help!

i can write perfectly well onto this HDD
but when i try to read from it (copy onto desktop / open a file)
it hangs up the whole computer.

its out of warranty,
does this mean its beyond hope already?

chkdsk shows no error.
Its currently an empty disk.

What can i do to try and save this HDD?

Try HDTune to scan for bad sector, uncheck Quick Scan.
Look at the Health tab too.

Seems your Hdd has encountered serious bad sectors.

As jtjt00 mentioned, do a full Scan disk..it will take sometime, as long as a full day and hope that the bad sectors are reallocated.

If too much bad sectors at the end, better to dispose the drive.
