Weather in Oct/ Nov

First time to Japan and wish to go in a cool weather.
How's Tokyo and Hokkaido weather like in Oct/ Nov?
Scenery is preferred but my friend recommend Tokyo for first trip.

No need for heavy wear, i wore TShirt . If you like, bring a sweater ...

When i was there last Oct, it was wet, so a foldable umbrella is something you may need to get there. U can always use it back in Singapore.

depends from year to year. and the weather can change quite quickly. there were several typhoon events in Sept-Oct-Nov last year too.

last year, for most parts of late Oct, Nov and Dec I was in my autumn jacket. only wore my winter wear starting in late Dec all the way to March. then again, living continuously in cold weather is slightly different from going on holiday for several days. but still you might just get suay.
