Any good hosting for wordpress sites?

Advertisements on services only. no e commerce. less than 3 emails per domain.
Currently have 2 domains but looking to increase more.

Need some help here. Just ran from hostgator.

Still panting*
Why don't you just get a VPS with a LAMP image from one of the I/PaaS providers? Cheap, fast, generally 0 downtime and almost idiot proof. You just need to upload your files. The database, server, will all be set up for you.

Hi, I'm not familiar with hosting packages. Hope someone can explain the terms for me.

Say I have a company with 50 - 80 staff and each user must have their own email address.

I am looking at Vodien's bizMail package which charges $2/mailbox/month which means $100 to $160 per month.

However, there is also a web hosting package that charges $10 per month and offers unlimited email accounts plus web hosting and ftp.

So Im wondering why anyone would sign up for the bizMail package if the $10 web hosting provides unlimited mail boxes.

Is there some features that the more expensive bizMail package is offering?

not all pple know how to login to AWS, launch a new EC instance and not to say setup a barebone VPS. :o

They need managed hosting...

I think people need to learn. Not all are born knowing all things they need in life. The world don't stop because it knows you need to learn.

There are a multitude of things worth in AWS that are simply not found in managed solutions nowadays. Like I have said depending on what one need, can try. :)

Like the latest IoT integration for a start. There are a lot of things that is worth looking into. The product lines of AWS is vast and rapidly building up.

Some of the things worth noting are
1) Autoscaling of resources
2) Powerful and scalable security controls using Security Groups
3) Token based security controls
4) Highly scalable object based storage using S3 and offloading to long term storage such as Glacier. Integration to on-premise storage using Storage Gateway
5) Automated deployment using Beanstalk and CloudFormation
6) Serverless design architecture using Lambda and API Gateway

I think I need to stop here because the list is just too long. Just the list below would have superseded a lot of managed services which claimed to be cloud providers today

In fact, the devils are in the details. Until you have dived into it, the list is just the way it looks. Only those whom really used it will understand what comprehensiveness of AWS cloud. Even the Route53 which is seemingly just a DNS service is not just yet another DNS solution.

Even 90% of developers will not bother with AWS let alone amateurs who are trying to bootstrap their own business. Barking up the wrong tree. If they were inclined to learn about it they wouldn't even need you to tell them.

there are quite a number of startups using AWS, so I don't agree that it is barking up the wrong tree.

whether an amateur is taking the initiative to use AWS to their advantage is for them to go future out. as far as I am concern, I give the suggestion, they can go figure out their strategy and direction. how do you come up with the number of 90% to support your claim? care to elaborate? incline or not is another thing.

Agree many start ups are on AWS, because it's probably the best and most cost-effective way to build a distributed application. But then those are the ones who take their stuff quite seriously. How many more clueless founders do you think there are? Just last year I attended a very grand opening by a company I shall not name (it has since folded I believe, but was involved in developing a dating app where you exchange dates for items). None of the founders knew the last thing about computing, and judging by how much they partied, probably didn't and still don't care to find out about it.

When I say barking up the wrong tree, and figures like 90%, I'm obviously being rhetorical. The point I'm trying to make is this: a lazy developer is like a horse that won't drink the water. On the other hand a non-lazy developer will try every way and means to figure things out themselves, even sometimes trial-and-error (bashing head on wall) - I've done that myself many times. And lazy developers are far more numerous than inquisitive ones.

So that's why even though you may give good advice, people just look at you and think you're crazy, because lazy developers just want a pre-rolled box running apache with cPanel. Sad but true. That's why hosts like godaddy and so on are still alive now. That's why these days I think, don't bother wasting time.

How about Google cloud? Seems like AWS is mentioned more frequently here.

The last I know Google Cloud Asia location seems to be Zhanghua, Taiwan. Not sure how if Google Cloud Asia has servers.

To be fair I never really considered Google. AWS seems to be the most robust option at the moment, plus like what lampc said, they have a data center here.
