My desktop is having this problem:

1) Onboard Intel graphics works fine through the DVI port, but not the HDMI port. Monitor simply receives no signal, even when only HDMI is plugged in.

2) Discrete graphics card gets intermittently detected. Here’s a video of me turning the computer power on and off multiple times. Observe the graphics card:

The graphics card light turns on only occasionally. The only time my monitor gets a signal (HDMI is DisplayPort) is when the graphics card fan spins, which is almost never.

This was a rare issue early on, resolving usually with a reboot. But today theres been zero signal no matter what. The motherboard is quite old (5 years I think)). The PSU is three years old (Superflower). Have tested with multiple GPUs — no diff.

Am wondering if it’s a PSU or mobo problem, unfortunately I don’t have extra parts of each to try testing with. Any ideas?

Go barebone and see if you still have issues. Could be the PSU losing power and not providing enough juice.
